I’m still fairly new to the apartment complex. I believe that it’s good for what it’s worth. I’m not allowing my initial interactions determine my overall opinion of the complex but I would like to give it some more time before giving a full review.
I love living here , I just wish I didn't have so many issues with my apartment

This is the highest rent I've ever paid, for the worst place I've ever lived. I would never suggest 1202 Pearl to a friend or acquaintance. They are great at getting you signed into a lease, and reassuring you when you have issues, but awful at acting on your concerns and efficiently and effectively solving your problems. They clearly do not care about their tenants to any legitimate degree.

Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Neighbors with dogs are obnoxious, leaving pets on patios to bark all day long. Barely any parking unless you pay $50 a month to have covered parking for their lawn maintenance team to come blow dirt all over your car.

The community is relatively quiet for the location it is at. The office staff are always kind and respectful. Theft is an issue but it’s not the only community having this problem in Tacoma.

My experience has been average at best. There has been at least 2 shootings in the complex since I have been here and maintenance requests take a long time to be answered. There does usually seem to be enough parking and the complex is pet friendly. The apartment was refurbished before I moved in, and the results were good.

New management of 1202 Pearl apartments are friendly and professional when going into the office in person. However, they horribly lack clear communication over the phone or by email. They do not fix things in a timely manner and all the issues we’ve had with leasing contract or service requests have been slow to fix. Would not recommend. New management are making physical positive changes such as new paint job and more parking spaces, however it’s the more core and vital tasks they lack such as apartment maintenance and communication with their renters.

I would never suggest this place to anyone, not since the new management took over. And you could go somewhere way nicer for the same cost! Not worth it, most of the units are still carpet, and other places around here with wood/laminate cost the same or cheaper.. it just feels like a complete rip off over here.

Worst place!!! All questions are ignored! Trash is not cleaned regularly ! Smoke alarm and carbon alarm don’t work in this apartments! Towing don’t work and ignored all my calls !

So I lived here in 2013 (Avery on Pearl now) and a few months after I moved out I get a $2000 bill in the mail. $1000 for rent because I didn’t give a two week move out notice(I honestly didn’t know that was a thing, I’ve always rented private) and another $1000 for when my toilet overflowed (which they say was my fault somehow) and they stuck a couple giant fans in the room for the day and move out cleaning costs. So I called Sue the manager at the time and she told me she understood, they were able to rent the apartment out quickly so she would take care of it. I never heard anything again and now I have this ridiculous bill in collections for this nonsense. I would have gladly taken care of the cleaning costs and everything but to tell me you’ll take care of something and then send me to collections? So ridiculous.

I needed an apartment over the summer of 2019 while I had an internship in Tacoma, and Avery on Pearl was really the only apartment community which didn't charge $500 more a month for a short term stay (only around $100 more!!). They were also the only community with a representative who actually stayed in contact with me and answered all my questions thoroughly, (Shout out to the amazing Danielle!!). The stay at Avery on Pearl was great, the 1 bedroom apartment has a spacious living room and the kitchen is also nicely sized with a great amount of counter space. Everything was also really clean! We were also provided with a balcony and extra storage room which wasn't in any of the advertisements but seems to be added to every 2nd and 3rd floor apartment! We had no problems with bugs, electrical or water issues, and everything went really smooth regarding payments and refunded deposits. Overall a wonderful stay and the first place I will look into if I go back to Tacoma in the future. :)

You know when you’re looking through reviews to see if you should or shouldn’t go for something with an awful rating? Let this be that review to tell you DONT DO IT. This place is awful in every single way. The office staff here is a joke! Especially Cathy. They won’t even take responsibilities for their own mistakes. The only person that has never been rude is Vanessa. So I guess she’s the only good experience about this place. There’s cat poop every outside. They did not install the carpets decently at all, they’re coming up in every single room. This place is so bad that we moved out before our lease was up and continued paying them rent because it was worth paying NOT to live there then it was to actually live there and deal with all their cr*p.

Don't rent from this place, because all they care about is money. Back in 2015 when we moved in, things were GREAT here. It was a nice place, and rent was decent. Now my rent has gone up by atleast 30% and I have the same exact apartment. They say it's because of the "market," whatever that means. They will just raise your rent every single time your lease is up and you go to re sign. Aside from that, any maintenance request you put in will take a week or more to be taken care of. Even if it is dangerous MOLD. When I moved in we were missing a shelf in our bathroom, guess what we are still missing? Yep, the shelf. They never answer the phones, or voicemails, or emails, so getting ahold of anyody during the week is absolutely impossible. And the office staff is RUDE. They also act like an HOA with their ridiculous made up rules. I can't have a bike on my patio...WHAT? Okay, I'll just bring it into my apartment so it can ruin my carpet, and you have somethig ELSE to make me pay for. This is the absolute worst apartment community I have ever lived in, run fast. I suggest literally anywhere else.

They told me that we needed to put down an application and holding deposit first before seeing the lease. After looking at the terms and refusing to sign, we are out over $275 plus hours of time and days of searching. With a bit more research, I found that it would be easy to draw up leasing papers before we put down any money. Easy $275 for them, I wonder how many other people have fallen for this?

These apartments are nice and roomy. The amenities are exceptional with 2 pools, hot tub, small gym and sana. The only concern I have is that it takes maintenance awhile to correct any issues that arise.

Two swimming pools, hot tub, exercise room.. Those are a few of the bonues of Cypress Cove. The grocery store is within walking distance, along with schools. Washer and dryer in each unit, dishwasher and friendly staff and neighbors.

It's nice to find a place for low income residents where many of the first floor apartments have both a front and back yard of decent size. I really like that. They are undergoing a major renovation during the next year which will mean new roofs, a new community center, free wifi (probably), new solar water heaters, improved fencing, and many more improvements. I'm not looking forward to the construction, but it will be really nice when it's done.

Our apartment is right next to the playground. We moved spring 2014, I thought maybe the kids would stop playing at the end of summer. When the first rain came around I was astounded to find that the kids were still playing. It's always loud. The kids don't stop. This apartment doesn't care if you complain, they'll just ignore you. Just stay in your apartment, hope nothing breaks or never be home and you'll be happy.
