Note that the property has a steep driveway, steep stairs and ladders into loft bedrooms, and natural flagstone floors on different levels. The property is also suitable for a visiting professor or other professional desiring to live away from the student population.. Attached is an apartment (with cosmetic improvements made in 2020) with its own entrance, living room, kitchen with stove, refrigerator, washer and dryer, a bathroom with walk-in shower stall, upstairs bedroom and study area. Can accommodate just one occupant as a permanent resident, but can otherwise be used as a guest house. The apartment could be set aside for an older son or daughter wanting to be more independent. Or the apartment could be sublet with Landlords' approval — an opportunity for a family member or friend to share costs. The apartment shares hot water, electricity and central heating with the house. The large workshop is also a shared space, in which Landlords may store a few items they use very infrequently. Deposit of $1,350 secures the dwelling, with monthly rent of $1,350. For subletting purposes or splitting the rent, we suggest a basic rent of $825 for the main house, and $525 for the apartment depending on your circumstances. But tenants are free to make their own arrangements about how to share the rent and utilities. Note that the property is rented out as a single family home, under a single lease agreement. Move-in date is negotiable, October-November 2024. An "available" date is required on this listing, so the November 1st date is a placeholder. If you can be flexible, that helps. We anticipate a lease terminating in late May preferably 2026 or 2027, but also negotiable. • We expect exceptional housekeeping from our tenants. • No smoking is allowed anywhere on the property inside or out. • We are seeking stable tenants in stable relationships and steady employment who will call this home and be prepared to stay for two or more years, with a renewable lease • Landlords take care of all repairs and major projects, while tenants take care of mowing and low-maintenance landscaping, and basic chores like gutter-cleaning. • If you have a green thumb, take advantage of the sunny area previously used for an organic vegetable garden, or dress up the outside with flowers and potted plants. • We prefer no pets, but this is negotiable. • Tenants pay all utilities as well as cable, internet and phone service of their choosing.
