About This Property
The best house in Portland is for rent for the first time in a decade! The historic home features a grand two-story entrance foyer with curved ceilings and original pumpkin pine flooring throughout. The chef's kitchen has a restaurant-grade Vulcan six-burner stove, soapstone countertops, and custom cabinetry. The kitchen also features a bar/island as well as an eat-in dining area. There is a large, walk-in pantry off the kitchen as well as a set of back stairs (painted with a mural by Angela Adams) that lead up to the master bedroom. The house features two bedrooms and two large bathrooms. The downstairs bathroom has a free-standing clawfoot tub, while the upstairs bathroom has a shower as well as an oversized jacuzzi tub. The property features a large, private driveway with parking for up to three cars as well as a garage that fits one car. There is an attic above the garage for storage as well as a full basement with concrete floors and no water issues. There is a fully fenced-in backyard bluestone patio that is accessed through the mud-room off the kitchen, and a dog-run behind the house. There is a laundry room at the top of the front stairs, and plentiful storage space throughout. Located in the heart of the West End / Central Arts District, the best dumpling place in Portland is right across the street, the Art Museum is at the corner, and everything else is a block away. It's an easy walk to the East End. This is one of the only single-family homes with a garage in the neighborhood. We plan to rent the house unfurnished, but are open to renting it partially furnished. We would consider a 6 month lease, or longer than one year in certain circumstances. We are also open to tenants who might want to leave for a month each summer, as we will be returning to visit in the summers. Renter will pay for for water, gas, electric, and snow removal. Owner pays for stormwater fee and property taxes. Renter must obtain renters' insurance, provide proof of employment and ability to pay rent, and submit to a background check. Additional monthly pet fee of $50. No smoking in the house or on the property. We plan to contract with a management company who will manage the property and address any day-to-day concerns.
