The college town of Aiken is located in southeastern South Carolina near the Georgia border. It is home to the University of South Carolina Aiken and to Aiken Technical College. The city is roughly 18 miles northeast of Augusta, but unlike its neighbor, golf doesn't reign supreme here -- polo does.
