Set between Manchester and Concord, Hooksett is a quiet town surrounded by beautiful scenery. Incorporated in 1822, its name was set by early fishermen who found fruitful waters in the Merrimack River that runs through the town.
While new apartment complexes have sprung up across this sleepy town, thereās still plenty of old Hooksett to be found. Robieās Country Store, founded the same year as the townās incorporation, is a National Historic Landmark and a popular stop for presidential candidates in the days surrounding the New Hampshire Primary.
Bear Brook State Park offers a nearby refuge for those who like to hike or bike ride. There are plenty of restaurants on either side of the river, and the conveniences of the city are just minutes away.
