Hillside streets fill the Somerville neighborhood of Spring Hill, which contains many historic buildings dating back to the mid-1800s, including the Somerville Museum. If you don't mind climbing, Spring Hill provides walkable and bike-friendly areas with plenty of amenities sitting within easy reach, as well as sweeping views of Boston and Cambridge from many homes. Nearby Union and Porter Square commercial centers offer diverse eateries and study-friendly cafes. Try vegetarian Indian food at Dosa-n-Curry or get focused with a latte at Simon’s Coffee Shop.
Those who work in Cambridge often choose Spring Hill when looking for an apartment to rent due to its close proximity to the city. Spring Hill is also close to the Ivy League school Harvard University, only a 15-minute walk away and a 10-minute drive, making for an easy commute for students and professors alike. Take a 20-minute drive south on Interstate 93 to reach downtown Boston and enjoy the many amenities of the big city.

Property Ratings at 136 & 138 Highland Avenue
Completely agree with the other reviews. Terrible living conditions. The building is old and run down. Constant construction. We haven’t had hot water in 2 weeks. We’ve called management every day and no one has done anything. They don’t care about tenants at all. The cost for these apartments is beyond ridiculous. Do not live here.
Akelius Management is unresponsive. After you move into your apartment they are impossible to communicate with or get ahold of. The walls are paper thin and there's non-stop construction going on inside, outside and around the building. Incredibly noisy. I wouldn't recommend that anyone live here, it was a terrible experience. You also don't have any control over the heat in your apartment. In the middle of winter it gets so hot that we had to keep the windows open at all times.
Akelius management sucks. They're incredibly unhelpful and rude. Non-stop construction going on in and around the building for months on end making it impossible to work from home - and all of this is going on in the middle of a world-wide pandemic while many people don't have the option to go into an office. The construction workers are up and down the fire escapes all day long, taking personal phone calls, smoking cigarettes, playing music and yelling at one another. Don't live here, it was the worst experience ever!!!!!!!
