Property Ratings at 14 North
The property was reasonably appointed & maintained. There were 2 units available but in order to avoid the stairs because I use crutches, both available units were on the ground floor. Only the main building had elevators (had 5 floors), but there weren't any one BR units open in that building. I will be living alone and didn't want to be on the ground floor, so ended up not choosing 14 North. It's worth a look.
Property Manager at 14 North, Responded To This Review
Thank you for taking the time to review our property. We appreciate your feedback regarding the availability of units and the accessibility of our elevators. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and look forward to welcoming you home in our community! Kind Regards, Madison WeCare@udr.com
Since October I'm requesting maintenance to come to my apartment. Today maintenance came (Dec 15), and the manager declared my apartment uninhabitable due to the construction/damage. Due to the holes in the wall, the heating is not sustaining the temperature and the management of 14 North says that is not their problem and they cannot even offer me a vacant unit for me and my family to stay up to the problem get fixed. THE APARTMENT IS COLDER AND COLDER AND I NEED TO FIGURE IT OUT, BY MY OWN, WHAT TO DO BECAUSE THE HEATING IS NOT KEEPING THE TEMPERATURE. Besides all other problems of having a construction inside of your apartment.
Living here was an awful experience for me and my fiancé. We could not move out soon enough. The management is awful, maintenance response time is unbelievably slow, property in general is poorly maintained and unsafe. There is never anyone in the office to help you if you do need something fixed or have a question. Keep an eye on your credit card if your information is on the resident portal; we were charged incorrectly multiple times and never reimbursed. I can not stress enough what a mistake it was to live here for any period of time.
Not impressed with the staff. Andrew in particular with the main office appears to be incompetent. When I first moved in seemed to be a well maintained facility but as time went on I noticed many issues. Security is a joke and people break into the gym area through the first floor windows. Plumbing issues in the main building created a sewage smell which went unaddressed for months. Damage to the exterior of the building seems to go unadressed starting in 2017. I heard they had a lawsuit related to the pool which drove them to cut their operating expenses. I moved from one unit to another to add a third bedroom and when the date of the move came I was told the signed lease paperwork was incorrect and they would not allow entry to the new unit for 2 weeks. Waste of a couple hundred dollars on a uhaul and management was unapplogetic. Would not recommend as you can get a much better deal elsewhere and I seriously doubt the management could be worse....
14 North is a pretty good apartment complex. The units are really nice, the people for the most part are nice as well, but you do have some loons, some senile elderly, and some white trash, all in all its a pretty good mix, leaning on the positive side. My only real complaint is that rent goes up by so much every year, after a couple years, it's no longer viable to live here. What I've noticed so far is that most of the people I've known that paid full priced rent are gone now, and my wife and I will be leaving at the end of this lease, but the units keep on being filled by a steady stream of section 8 housing, causing prices to inflate because of an artificial demand. The units themselves are very nice. Fully carpeted, reliable appliances, and the big one for me is laundry is in unit. I really wish I could stay at this place, but the rent is getting too high.
This property has been wonderful. I have a family of five, three of which are children under the age of 7. I also have 2 med/lg dogs. This property has been absolutely wonderful for them. There are a lot of other people with dogs, and tons of children that live here! There's a gorgeous pool with a hot tub, 4 gas grills that are free for residents to use, a 24 gym, indoor basketball court, resident lounge, business center and 3 playgrounds. Our apartment was renovated before we moved in, it's gorgeous. The only complaint I've had was the maintenance request system. It is difficult to get a specific appointment time, but with some patience and discussion with the maintenance people, I was able to have them call me to schedule an appointment when I submit a maintenance request. Everyone is very friendly, the neighborhood is very quiet, and it is easy to access the city, the interstate, highway 1, and major shopping areas! We love it here!!!!!!
14 North is so conveniently located at the corner of Rt. 95 & Rt.1 off of Rt 114 Danvers/Peabody. Its easy living with quick access to all the northshore has to offer. There are many apartment options here. There are many amenities such as private entrances, high cathedral ceilings, newly renovated kitchens, loft spaces, snow plowing & full clubhouse. This is a perfect apartment community if your a pet owner. My family has enjoyed our spacious apartment living for 3 years now...give 14 North a look.
Great apartment. On the rail trail. Lots of trees. Very relaxing and quiet, but close to everything.
