Cobblestone sidewalks and mature trees accentuate the historic architecture in Soulard, the oldest neighborhood in Saint Louis. Combining old-world elegance with a hip, trendy flair, Soulard is one of the city's most popular neighborhoods, filled with bars and restaurants and the location of the annual Mardi Gras parade and Oktoberfest. It is also home to the oldest farmers' market west of the Mississippi River, and it is the location of the Anheuser-Busch headquarters.
In addition to being historic, beautiful, and filled with fun things to do, Soulard is walkable, bicycle-friendly, and close to downtown. It is home to several parks, including Soulard Park and Frenchtown Dog Park. Attractions include the Anheuser-Busch Biergarten, the Budweiser Brewery Experience, and the Mad Art Gallery. I-65 extends along the west side of Soulard for easy access to downtown, located about one mile north.

Property Ratings at 1400 Russell Apartments
Great place to live in Soulard right next to McGurks and a short walk to all the other bars. All staff of the building are super friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for something in the area.
If you are a light sleeper, do not move into apartment 226 and if you are a shift worker, do not move into any apartment that faces the courtyard. Apt 226 is right above the gym and you can hear every weight that is dropped, every footstep on the treadmill, and the music played on their surround sound. They initially lowered the volume cap to help the music issue but recently raised it back up so my girlfriend and I are trying to get it lowered again. Also, they recently purchased a deadlift bar. As for the courtyard, you can hear every conversation going on vividly, so the entire complex has poor sound barriers. So anyway, now we have to call every time its too loud and it is very inconvenient.
I love my apartment for its looks and location and management has been good for the most part. Just recommending that you not pick an apartment anywhere near the fitness center. I am woke every morning at 5 am and continually hear weights hitting floor and machine plates dropping alllllllllll day long. Sounds like a bowling alley in my place. Only fix is to continually call and complain. Pay way too much to hear this all day long.
I happened to find this place while getting gas. This was a great find. I explained my situation to the property managers and guess what, they met my needs with no problems. I sold all my furniture before the move. I now live in a fully furnished apartment, including dishes and other kitchen utensils. I don't have to worry about anything but building my business. I'm thankful and grateful to be a resident of 1400 Russell. The entire team is great. They are problem solvers and approachable. I'm slowly getting to know other residents. From what I can tell we are all trying our best to live respectively and cooperatively. The swimming area, gym and business center are separate perks.
I personally want to make a complete shout of to Amanda for being such a great leasing agent/property manager. She has been nothing but AMAZING and so accommodating since my move in. The amenities are out of this world and the price is so worth it! I’ve met many amazing people since I’ve been here and I feel so AT HOME! Thank you Amanda and Paric Construction for making this building what it is today! I wouldn’t have my living situation any other way!! :)
My husband and I were the first applicants at 1400 Russell. We downsized a few years ago and moved to the city. Our previous apartments in this historic neighborhood had too many stairs and no offstreet parking. This building is a gem and so easy to live in. Two elevators, underground parking, secure package delivery, in-house fitness center, business center, pool and hot tub are among the many amenities. We are retired and this building is perfect for us. We appreciate the diverse tenant population and the excellent staff-office, security and maintenance. The property is well maintained and maintenance requests are handled promptly. We love living here.
I have lived here for about 3 months now and I love it! Amanda is always available for questions and takes care of any request right away. They are extremely pet friendly and greet/play with my dog every time they see him. Pool and lounge areas are great for watching games and the courtyard is great for entertaining guests by the spa. Walking distance to all the great spots in soulard and easy access to the interstate. 24 hour security who do a great job ensuring our apartments are secure! You won’t regret moving to 1400 Russell and becoming part of the soulard family!
It's hard to think of a better living situation for young individuals and families than 1400 Russell. The apartment is brand new, so every open room is untouched. The rooms and appliances are state of the art, and the fitness center is all you need for a gym. Amenities like a rooftop pool, private courtyard, underground heated parking, and a hot tub are more than you can find anywhere else in this part of the city. The location right off the main street of Soulard could not be better. To top it off, management is more than willing to accommodate to anything you need and on-site security staff couldn't be friendlier.
I live at 1400 Russell, the apartments are small and very nice. I was moved in by Mia who was a great manager and Amanda who are the best, they have tried their best to do all they could to make me happy and to come up with ways to fix any problems with my apartment. Management I will give a 5 star review, they make you feel comfortable and easy to talk to. I will say that all places have their fair share of problems and I will not put the apartments on blast cause I love my apartment. I will say this my apartment is close to the fitness center and I can feel and hear everything in my apartment, the weights being dropped on the floor, the running on the treadmill the trucks starting up in the garage and much more. If I had to rate the apartments I would give it a 3 out of 5
