Como Park is anchored by its dynamic namesake green space. Como Regional Park is home to Como Park Zoo and Conservatory, the only free zoo in the nation. The park also has a golf course, sports fields, a small amusement park, and mini-golf. Lake Como on the eastern portion of the park offers paddleboat and kayak rentals. Adding even more entertainment options, Como Park is directly east of Lee and Rose Coliseum, the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, and part of the University of Minnesota’s east campus. This entertainment hub next to Como Park is also filled with bars and trendy eateries. Attracting even more renters, Como Park is near several shopping centers, including Rosedale Center, a large mall. Como Park residents enjoy having plenty of amenities not far from home, but for an even wider selection, Downtown Saint Paul is about four miles away via Highway 51 nearby. Although the park brings excitement, Como Park is still a quiet, residential area.

Property Ratings at 1510 Larpenteur Ave W
Let me give you a montage of problems I had renting this place: -The floors are "vintage", which is landlord-speak for "old and badly maintained". They creak very loudly when walked on, do nothing to insulate between apartments, and are easily damaged (an easy ding to the security deposit) -Insulation in the building is atrocious. There is no AC, and even with a portable AC unit we were sweating heavily in the summer. In the winter, frost forms inside the windows. -Most of the units come with some kind of damage. We had cracked windows, scuffed floor, and dents in the walls. Some of the doors didn't close all the way. -The kitchens are tiny, and the stoves old and feeble. Don't bother using the broiler. -There is a significant noise issue in the building which the landlords refuse to do anything about. The aforementioned floors creak constantly, and there is little soundproofing between units. Due to this, we had downstairs neighbors pounding on our floor, sending us nasty notes, and even calling the police...all because we dared walk across the apartment and sit in a chair. The landlords were unhelpful, unresponsive, and even passive-aggressive, at one point suggesting that we don't go into a room of our apartment after hours. -The landlords are very bad about repairs. A few times, we were awoken to a text informing us that we could not use our bathroom because a pipe had clogged and the downstairs tenant's bathroom was flooding. The plumber they sent to fix this, always the same guy, did not seem to actually fix the problem, and also at one point used our kitchen Tupperware to drain water because he forgot to bring a bucket. Also, one of our downstairs neighbors posted a picture to Twitter of the landlord's "fix" to the problem: placing an empty bucket on a beam underneath the leaking pipe. The landlords also would not perform minor repairs, and the building's sole washer and dryer were broken on multiple occasions. -The landlords do not respect younger tenants. We were talked down to throughout our time living here, and even asked if we had our parent's blessing to move in together when signing the lease.
I lived here a few years ago and I wish 0 stars was an option. A few highlights Building is old and there is 0 sound proofing you can here someone sneeze on the top floor from the basement. All windows are cracked and let air in in the winter Heating in the winter sucks and I'm not sure if tenants can actually control the temp we turned it all the way up and I think one day we got up too 50° inside and all windows froze over If anything ever needed to be fixed it wasn't The water heater for the building broke down multiple times in the less then a year I lived there My partner and I got asked when applying if we had out parents blessing to move in together... I have no positive things to say about this apartment or the landlords It's not worth the rent I wouldn't live there again if I was paid too
