Consistently ranking as one of the best places to live in the country, Murfreesboro is growing fast – and for good reason! Settled in 1811, this city was named for a Revolutionary War hero, and it’s held its historic roots ever since. Residents can explore the city’s local history at a variety of museums, including the Oaklands Historic Museum, the Bradley Academy Museum, and the Stones River National Battlefield. Murfreesboro is also home to Middle Tennessee’s only Museum of Natural History.
For those who enjoy cultural events and entertainment, the Murfreesboro Center for the Arts hosts concerts, live theater performances, and more. Enjoy the local events around the city, such as the Main Street Music Jazzfest and the International Folk Fest! Murfreesboro’s local university, Middle Tennessee State University, is growing just as quickly as the city itself. This top-notch institution is known for its programs in aerospace and music, and adds to the artistic charm of Murfreesboro.

Property Ratings at 1540 Place
We moved into 1540 Place back in March of 2022 and it has been horrible! Maintenance never comes, and if they do they don’t fix ANYTHING. Upon moving out we finally found mold and it was the reason why me and my boyfriend were sick. We had been calling maintenance since May of 2022 and everytime they came they didn’t fix anything! Our sink was clogged every other week. We had a leak every other week that caused the mold! All they did was clean the carpet and I even told them about my suspicions of it being mold! The office staff are very rude! Also upon moving in everything was broken! My closet door , the bathroom has chips of paint , my sink was clogged and even the floor was chipped! So again this has been my worst experience with apartments

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Our team works hard to provide customers with the best support possible and we apologize that this wasn’t your experience. We’d like to better understand what happened and how we can make things right, so please reach out to us at 1540@CRESManagement.com or call 615-907-0600. Thank you.
Everyone is friendly & great neighborhood pet friendly also .
Maintenance team doesn't appear to be trained in any way, just a few guys with minor experience fixing things. The halls are constantly dirty, the residents are loud, constant overhead planes from the nearby air field. Upon moving in we discovered there was 1 fire extinguisher for our floor, which was outside in the hall. Took one of their building burning down to get us all our own extinguishers. Upon move out, they will charge you for EVERYTHING. Even the garbage "mattress" they provide upon move in. They will also raise your rent halfway through your lease, so read the details carefully. I woul never recommend this apartment complex to anyone that can afford a little more. It would be wasted on this excuse of an apartment complex.

The office is full of nothing but lies. This place will try to fine you for anything! Even if it was their fault. The “interactive dog park” is a joke. It is a grown up patch in a fence filled with poop. These apartments have severely went down hill since moving here 2 years ago. I would not waste my money here trapped in a year lease.
1540 Place has ruined my experience with apartments forever. Me and my roommates have gone through hell with this place. Please listen to the bad reviews, I didn’t. There have been multiple police altercations right outside our door, once there were even drugs and a straw left on the stairs right by our door afterwards. My dog’s paws have been cut by a shattered glass bottle that was right on the stairs and wasn’t cleaned. We are plagued by black mold that has never been taken care of, we have had our mail stolen, been accused of being “too loud” and threatened with fees by the apartment underneath us with no proof or evidence whatsoever. and so much more. it’s cheap but it is not worth all the problems we have had. I don’t even like being home and I have already found another place before my lease at 1540 even ended. There’s better places out there! Good luck!
If I could give this place no stars I would. Please do not live here. I promise you it will be the worst 12 months of your life. This is the absolute worst apartments in Murfreesboro. The staff is HORRIBLE. They are not helpful at all. They seem sweet at first but never get anything done you ask them to do. When we moved in everything was broken. It was dirty and had not been cleaned or painted like we were promised. It was not live able by ANY MEANS. The apartments are outdated, gross, not worth the price for ALL the trouble we have been through. It has been hell! We found mold almost 2 months in after a roommate began getting sick and did a mold test. It came back very clear that there was mold. We were promised to have someone come ASAP. A woman came looked at the air vent and said there was no mold because if there was it would be growing on the outside of the vents, yet we have a Petri dish full of mold that can clearly be seen. I would NEVER recommend anyone to ever live here. I hate this place so much.
I moved to College Grove Apartments and every since then I had numerous issues and it's been with Management. Before unmoved into this apartment I asked literally three different employees about how much I had to pay to move in and I was quoted a price. Well April 1st came around and I paid my amount. About 2-3 weeks later I receive a call about owning money. I went to the office and the cleared the charges. The second incident was that we have a hotel key card to open our door and one night I left my key inside my apt. Once I called the front office I was charged $35 for my first time being locked out, I called the next day to speak with the Manager, she informed me that the $35 was in my lease. Well after reviewing my lease about 3 times I did not find that part so I went to a friend to see if they saw the same and they did not see it either. So I called the front office and one of the employees explained it to me and I showed her my lease as well. She stated that she didn't know why I was charged the $35 and she did not see it in the lease. Well I paid the $35 and they sent a flyer out in June about pressure washing our doors. Well as of today our door sticks out like a bright pink shirt. Instead of pressure washing the door they painted it and the paint was the wrong color. I'm currently waiting for next month to see if I will receive my two gift cards, one for moving in April and the other for being in a second lease, which I signed before I moved in, big mistake. The apartment is lovely, even though I bought a modem to make my internet connection stronger, I really like my roommate he was a great match we're literally the same person just a different shade. The scenery is lovely as well but the management is great at breaking promises.
