About This Property
- The Farmington Village Condo - Welcome to the Farmington Village Condo! Be drawn into this home by the expansive NEW bay window pouring natural light into the large living room. Renters will fall in love with the original red oak hardwood flooring found throughout the home as well as the spaciousness of this front living room that allows for a flexible floor space and any size furniture. This bright room is great for entertaining and relaxing and is a highlight of the apartment. Another highlight is the location! Find yourself across the street from the Farmington River and the very popular Wood-N-Tap waterfront restaurant and bar. The Unionville/Farmington area is known for its cozy suburban life, wonderful community, and top-rated schools. UConn Health Center, Jackson Labs, and ESPN are all convenient commutes. The Unionville center is walking distance from the condo with a large supermarket, restaurants, diner, library, and the popular Olive Bar. The river, fishing, hiking, biking, rails to trails, are all close by making it a great location for outdoor enthusiasts. One of the best features of the condo is that it’s on the second (top) floor with no one above you! The second floor (top) units are much more in demand than the first floor for this extra privacy and peacefulness. Furthermore, he second floor provides a ton of natural light from the oversized south facing windows and helps keep utilities in the winter reasonable (with help from the lower unit too). We just finished installing brand new thermopane windows in the unit! Farmington Village are individually owned condos and not a rental community. It is a quiet, well cared for, and professional complex. Another nice surprise is a small private landing off the kitchen that backs to the wooded backyard. The kitchen is above average size and large enough for a table and chairs. There is a good amount of closet space throughout and the condo comes with an additional 6’x 8’ storage unit in the lower level. Another great feature is the covered carport right underneath the condo to get you and your car out of the elements. This could not be any more convenient with the covered car port next to the front entrance. Please keep in mind there is a strict application process that focuses heavily on credit. While Farmington is only about eight miles southwest of Downtown Hartford, it feels more like a wooded resort town. The Farmington River meanders through the heart of Farmington, lined with picturesque parks. Narrow roads wind along hills, through the forested countryside and past the roadside stands of local farmers. But Farmington has another side -- a thriving business side, with major companies like Cisco Systems, United Technologies Corporation, Beazley USA, and iTech Solutions located in the city.
Farmington is the oldest settlement west of the Connecticut River. English colonists arrived here in 1640, attracted by the rich soil along the river. The town and river were named in 1645. Main Street features several colonial estates dating back to the 17th century, and George Washington referred to the settlement as the "village of pretty houses.
