About This Property
Welcome to The Iron Cottage Step into a charming 1940s bungalow located just over a mile from JMU in Harrisonburg, VA. Perfectly nestled between the bustling Downtown Harrisonburg (just 5 minutes away) and the serene rural countryside, this cozy retreat offers the best of both worlds. The home sits between Routes 11 and 42, making it easy to explore the city. Relax on the wide front porch, admire the stylish interiors, and enjoy a stay curated for your comfort. A professional cleaning team prepares the unit, ensuring crisp bed and bath linens, generous pillows, and a spotless space. Complimentary coffee and snacks are always available to make your visit extra special. A Curated Stay The Iron Cottage is a harmonious mix of vintage collectibles, crisp bedding, and ever-evolving art pieces. You'll find: A living area with a colorful book collection, including Virginia hiking guides. Entertainment options, including a Roku TV (with Xfinity App Cable) and a record player with an eclectic vinyl collection. Dining & Kitchen Enjoy meals in the dining room at a spacious farm table, surrounded by a rotating collection of artwork. The kitchen is fully stocked with: Spices and cookware for your culinary adventures. A coffee and snack station, always ready for you. Bedrooms & Bath From the dining room, a hallway leads to the bedrooms and bath. Each bedroom features a queen bed with its own unique style. Fresh linens, extra pillows, and blankets are always on hand to ensure your comfort. Please note that the original staircase to the second floor is sealed off at the top, as the upstairs tenant uses a private outdoor entrance. Outdoor Spaces Parking: Guests can park on the left side of the house and enter via the front porch. Backyard: Accessible through the mudroom off the kitchen. A door to the basement provides access to laundry facilities. Please finish any ongoing laundry cycles before using the machines—your cooperation is appreciated! For Your Furry Friends If you're traveling with a dog, we recommend visiting Hillandale Park (just a 2-minute drive across Virginia Avenue). This park offers wooded hiking trails, bike paths, and access to the city’s new walking routes. Since the street lacks sidewalks and has a "country road" vibe, especially at night, the park provides a safer and more enjoyable experience for walks. Whether you’re here to explore, relax, or both, The Iron Cottage promises a memorable and welcoming stay!
