Property Ratings at 1710 N 20th St
This is an Apartment building , our apartment was on a lower level/basement. Overall the maintenance of the place is pretty poor in the whole building. It is a locked facility, but you have a hard time opening it yourself because the locks are not up kept including the door to our apt. The building call box didnt work , I'm not sure about the other apartments in the building but, ours didn't. The whole lower level does leak during heavy rain. They've needed to pump water out of the lower Apartments most all of them. Our apartment did Flood and we did lose some blankets but nothing of value. our room was right below another tenant and I'm sure our upstairs neighbors weren't trying to be loud but we could hear all their footsteps or moving of furniture in both rooms which kept us up. Also the apartment doesn't have any carpet, it's all tile floor which does get cold in the winter am is hard on your feet. The heat only comes on at night it seemed. But felt very inconsistent because we've had Frozen nights. The building does have laundry however the dryer wont dry your clothes, so I had to bring our laundry elsewhere. The landlord seemed nice at first and left you alone for the most part. However make sure you get whatever he says in writing. Because when you move out he will try to bill you for everything he can. Read your lease thoroughly. He doesn't allow pets but if you ask and he says your pet is fine , say caged or not get it in writing and out of the lease , he will forfeit your deposit for it when you move out, even if it was agreed upon in the beginning, he will then bill you on top of it for any repairs or cleaning. Overall my experience hasn't been that Pleasant and also very expensive.
