The Crown Heights South neighborhood of the New York City borough of Brooklyn sits a few blocks southeast of downtown Brooklyn and a few blocks east of the Hudson River. Its close proximity to downtown and easy access to Manhattan make it very attractive to families as well as young professionals and students attending nearby Brooklyn College.

Good location & space, but...

For space and location, my apartment is great. The apartment is pretty large by NYC standards. It has an eat-in kitchen with plenty of counter space, a full bathroom and lots of closets. It's a 5-minute walk to the 3/4 train and so many buses, including one that will get you to the A/C train. Plus there's a large park across the street. My only cons are that the building and grounds aren't kept too clean (a little bit of landscaping never hurt), my apartment overlooks messy back and side courtyards , VERY close to the surrounding apartment buildings and private houses, has no views and barely any sunlight (my poor plants!), thin walls and floors (sound travels too easily), and a gang of cats that seem to linger around the building and neighborhood.
