Welcome to The Honoli'i Hale, the ultimate Hawaiian family retreat in this luxury adorned, craftsman oceanfront estate. Live like Hawaiian royalty catching (or watching) waves at the island's most consistent surf break in your front yard. Stand Up Paddle board up the peaceful Honoli'i stream, or celebrate a vow renewal or wedding in the Stream-front Amphitheater, your family and friends will truly remember this one-of-a-kind Hawaiian Resort Home located 12 minutes from Hilo International Airport There are certain places on earth that capture an essence of place like no other. Honoli'i Hale is one of them. As you enter this resort style property at the top level and descend the stairs into the magical private enclave that of Honoli'i Hale you will truly feel the 'mana or spirit of the ancient Hawaiians who once lived in this beautiful place. Uniquely situated at the confluence of the Honoli'i Stream, the Maile Stream and the Honoli'i Beach, this unique residence boasts the absolute best in location, amenities and comfort, but most of all, the genuine modern authentic Hawaiian experience of living in a truly unique place. Resort living in this property boasts hand hewn lava rock construction, hand harvested and stained Ohia trunks, craftsman style finishes inside and out, all situated in one of the most idyllic settings, surrounded by ocean, river, mountains and valley that makes for a property that embodies the place, experience and the absolute best of what we call the Aloha Spirit. There are 4 bedrooms with beds for 12, with an additional baby crib, and temporary bedding available which can increase capacity by up to 16. The Bungalow below the Garage, is essentially a junior suite with half bathroom and kitchenette that can sleep three, and is likely a spot for the kids to enjoy. Its lanai overlooks the river, the ocean and the whales when they are in season. Further down the stairs into the main house, you'll find a 360 degree wrap around porch with stone tile, Ohia posts, with a large Mango Wood dining table that seats 10 and one of the best parts of the lanai are the multiple nooks and hideaway seating areas for the readers in the group to escape or for a pair of old friends to find a quiet spot with a view and catch up. This wrap around porch creates such a generous feel of spaciousness with easy access to the entire main level, it's easily one of our favorite aspects of this home. Entering into the majestic front door, you'll find yourself in the living area with leather seating, driftwood finished tables and a newly renovated kitchen outfitted with all the necessary touches and new stainless steel appliances for a large family gathering. The large sliding glass doors out to the lanai create the ultimate in indoor/outdoor Hawaiian style living. The main kitchen in the upstairs open-concept living space is complemented by another downstairs food prep area that can serve as overflow or a great spot to store and serve snacks for the surfers or the water bugs that will spend time on the beach or swimming in the stream. Additionally there is an outdoor grilling area behind the home as well as additional grills located on the bottom level out by the Halau (Halau is Hawaiian word for a large open structure near the ocean or the waters edge for teaching the art of hula) Continuing the main level tour there is the original master bedroom which features two sliding doors to the lanai, views of the ocean or the river and a full dual-vanity bathroom, custom tiled shower with bench and private water closet. Heading downstairs the beautiful staircase trimmed in stained Ohia, you'll see the massive window looking out to the 'point' surf break, and then continue to the lower level to the generous and tastefully designed Master Suite which features hand hewn laval treatments, a King Bed, a generous chaise lounge that doubles as a twin bed, a desk for working, and 3 large glass sliding doors for direct access to the lower front lanai that faces the ocean or the generous side lanai with access to the lower lawn and the river. The large Master Bathroom features a beautiful soaker tub, double vanities and a custom shower that features an original boulder as a unique center piece to the large shower. Also downstairs is the nautical themed guest bedroom that features two queen beds and dueling views of the ocean and stream with two large sliding glass doors. Continuing outside to the left towards the stream we find the Honoli'i Halau, the large open structure with unobstructed views of the ocean and views back towards Hilo. This structure is designed to serve many purposes, but it is a perfect use for an outdoor dining area, or a small wedding or vow renewal venue with plenty of room for an extended ohana, because it includes amphitheater style seating that faces the river. Perfect for two loved ones committing or re-committing to a lifetime of love. Back towards the house there is the downstairs food prep area which serves as a great spot for storing catering or big box store items as well as the outdoor shower and foot washing area above the beach path, and of course the paved path down to the gate with access to Honoli'i beach. This property is so unique with so many different angles that words can't describe it, but you are welcome to follow us on socials @hicoastal. 4 Bed/1 Full Bath & 3 1/2 Baths & 2 Outdoor Showers
