The Financial District sits at the tip of Lower Manhattan. It is the oldest part of New York City – the city was created here in 1624. Known as the world’s center of finance, the district is home to the largest stock exchange in the world, the New York Stock Exchange. Sometimes referred to as FiDi, the district contains a variety of high-end restaurants and bars along Wall Street, popular hangouts for those working at the exchange.
Many landmarks are in the Financial District, including One World Trade Center, The National 9/11 Memorial and Museum, the Ellis Island National Immigration Museum, the Castle Clinton National Monument, and Battery Park. National Historic Sites include St. Paul’s Chapel, founded in 1766 and visited by George Washington after his inauguration in 1789. Stone Street, one of New York’s oldest streets, is a historic district, first paved in 1658.
Because so much is happening in the Financial District, it is packed with residents, workers, and tourists.

Property Ratings at 180 Water St
My husband, myself and young children have lived in building and generally don't have complaints - friendly front door man and building staff with the exception of management. The only concern they have is renewing leases - they won't address any other concern you have. While I was home with small children in the middle of the day, a man walked into our apartment telling me that he was told by the leasing office it was available. When my husband brought this to the attention of the management (with me copied) to ask for both the safety of my family and make sure it doesn't happen again, the woman told us although I have been living in the building for 5 years and married to the person who holds the lease, she could not speak to me in the email because my name wasn't on the lease. Is it 2022, or at a point in time when the woman is hushed so they can only speak to the man of the apartment? The email originated from my husband and instead of answering his questions, she said she couldn't respond because I was copied on the email. When my husband then directly addressed her, she simply said that it was a mistake and that they somehow went into the wrong unit. She said it was no fault of theirs and they take safety seriously. My question is, why was an unattended person who does not live in the building left roaming the hallways alone? I should be able to leave my door unlocked for a few minutes in the middle of the day to take out trash with out the fear that strangers will come in, not knocking. We will won't be renewing our lease.
Building management is extremely inept, and while the apartments are nice and the building is new, management doesnt know what they are doing and there might as well not be any amenities.
I do not receive any this building at all. Many mechanical and management problems. Please look at other properties and spare yourself the aggravation of living at this property.
