From the shore of Bde Maka Ska lake to the thriving businesses along Lyndale Avenue, Uptown serves as a major hub for arts and entertainment in Minneapolis. The music scene has deep roots, with legendary alumni such as Prince getting their start in Uptown. The nightlife tends to be a bit more subdued than the nearby Warehouse District, but still incorporates dozens of bars and nightclubs catering to a variety of tastes. The neighborhood is known for its artistic flair, reflected in the abundance of public artworks and popular events like the Uptown Art Fair.
When it comes to living in Uptown Minneapolis, folks have several great options. Most of the neighborhood is residential, with everything from historic apartment buildings to large single-family homes lining the streets. Positive experience so far. Moved into the building in mid-July of 2024. Kind people and helpful staff upon moving in. Looking forward to enjoying the space and building.

I have enjoyed living in Seventeen10. I have had no issues with my unit and it really is beautiful. I love how spacious and the amount of lighting it gets. The staff are very friendly. I like that we have a coffee machine in the lobby. My only suggestion is to improve/upgrade the gym equipment and/or more stuff.
This is a very comfortable and welcoming building with great staff and amenities! The roof is lovely, and it's nice to see so many charming dogs in the elevator.
The public areas re maintained very well nd kept clean all the time. Most important, the staff goes way beyond who is necessary to make sure that the concerns of the residents are taken care of s soon as they are known. They want our experience here to be as pleasant and enjoyable as possible.
Great experience living at 1800 Lake. I love the full windows in my apartment, and you can't beat being so close to the lakes! I like how they have the amenities you need without going overboard on community rooms or pools like a lot of other buildings in the area, where you end up paying for things you don't use. The community deck/grill, small but effective gym, and nice lobby area are really all you need. Would recommend this place to anyone looking to live in Uptown!
I have enjoyed living here so far! Neighbors are extremely nice and welcoming. Building is quiet and clean. I have had no issues with the apartment. It is beautiful living here!
I really enjoy living at this place because the location is perfect for what I like to do. Also the management and maintence is on par with any apartment near uptown.
We love our building's proximity to lakes, bike trails, and restaurants, as well as the community's family-friendly feel. The staff on site are attentive and proactive. Our living experience is overall good. The neighborhood unfortunately is not turning out to be as secure as we had hoped, and 1800 Lake has progress that needs to be made in response to keep up with how safety is evolving. The only other downside to living in this property is that there is very limited parking in the building. Overall, very happy to be part of the community!
If I’ve said it before I’ve said it one thousand times. The team this place has hired is simply unmatched. Between Cassie and Kevin, I can’t emphasize enough how seamless and wonderful it has been to be a part of this community. Communication and maintenance is top notch here.
This is a lovely building and community. The property manager is the best I've worked with. We have enjoyed our time here and the access to the outdoors that it affords us.
Location: Excellent. Right on the chain of lakes. Maintenance: Fast and responsive. Rent: After 1 year, they only hiked my rent by 1%. Cleanliness: this building is well maintained and cleaned constantly. Overall: highly recommend this place. It is well run.
Cassie is simply amazing. We needed a place immediately after being displaced from our home and moving across the country. Cassie did everything she could to push our app through quickly and get us approved to move in immediately. 1800 Lake is a quiet, well-maintained community about 20 steps from Bde Maka Ska and we are excited to explore the neighborhood. Great community so far with a fabulous manager. Kudos!
Love management and maintence. Pretty responsive to needs based on a priority scale. Makes it fair but also you rarely wait more then 2 days.
I've only been here one week but already am impressed by the quality of the building, very quiet / serene environment and nice residents! Cassie and Kevin have been lovely as well. Everything is very clean / well kept and building feels safe. Will update if things change in the future, but so far, an amazing experience all around.
Nothing to complain about. Responsive management, clean building, excellent maintenance person. Manager always tries to engage the tenants in activity which are interesting and gives tenants a chance to meet one another.
Best building management experience I have ever had as a MPLS renter! I have lived at multiple properties over the past 14 years but 1800 Lake takes the cake. Rooftop patio is amazing over the summer time and I love my unit.
The area of uptown has changed drastically from move-in time, which is the main reason I wouldn't recommend. No issues with apartment or staff, otherwise.
Maintenance is always extremely timely which is a bonus for this location. I have had prior places where the maintenance took forever.
This apartment building is fine and the location is nice (minus the protest activity down the street), but the building staff really make or break a community for me.
Communication has been poor. We were told we would have two parking spots and only received one. Location is great.
Great location and great place! I highly recommend
Good location but not many amenities
Fun location very close to Lake Calhoun. The management company has a lot of trouble telling the truth. Don’t like the smiles and the front office fool you. Don’t waste your time, with all the new apartments being built in uptown there is no need to put up with their lack of of customer service, integrity and false advertising.
Nice property in a good and a good location ruined by a terrible management company. They are greedy and unethical. There are too many good places in uptown to rent. Save your money and your peace of mind go somewhere else.
Love living at 1800 Lake. Lake Calhoun across the street with many trails to walk, run or bike. Great restaurants, nightlife and shopping to walk to.
If you'd like to be surrounded by very lively area, and also would like to enjoy walking by the lake sometimes, it's the perfect medium. it is located right next to Lake Calhoun, and right on Uptown. Definitely worth the money
