Directly across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C., Arlington is less a suburb than an extension of the nation’s capital. It’s the home of the Pentagon, Arlington National Cemetery, and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, with a number of waterfront parks offering beautiful views across the river to the National Mall.
The community provides a wide range of living options, from apartments, townhomes, and duplexes to condos and houses. A major reason for Arlington’s popularity is that there is so much to do. Washington may be packed with monuments, museums, and other sightseeing landmarks, but Arlington holds the advantage when it comes to the more day-to-day shopping, dining, entertainment, and nightlife.
You’ll have several options for getting around town or into D.C., whether you choose to drive, take the Metro, or ride your bike — Arlington has earned a silver rating from the League of American Bicyclists.

Property Ratings at 1800 Oak
This building may be close to the Metro, but it is full of dogs with owners that don't mind them - dog waste in the hallways! Apartments are very expensive and renewals are very high. Much better communities elsewhere.
This apt is always renovation inside the house. NOISY each week. They won’t change residents old machine like older washing machine but renovation the empty apt near you and send you so many noisy. If you work remotely! Run! Don’t consider this apartment
The location and amenities are nice, but if you are hoping to study or work from home in this building, please save yourself some trouble and look elsewhere. There is construction 24/7 both within the building and around it - constant drilling, jack-hammering, and beeping during the day. You can hear your neighbors through the walls and in the hallway too. The rental rates are too high to justify this constant interruption.
First of all, this apartment complex is more like a kennel. There are barking dogs all hours of day and night in the hallways and courtyard, and you can hear them ever while you are in your apartment and they are in theirs. I have complained about this numerous times but I am met with excuses and "we are a pet friendly apartment". I like dogs but this is an extended stay hotel in addition to a long term apartment building. So the noise isn't managed well at all, due to the transient nature of the guests. To add insult to injury the front desk hosts "Yappy Hour". Its a get together for residents and their animal... They are clearly more geared to the pet owners at the other residents expense. Second of all, there are numerous additional costs that they don't explain to you upon moving in. Only when you are locked into a contract and settled do you see odd charges that you never agreed to. When you inquire about them they state that its an error and the charges are subtracted only to reappear the next month and then the next month. Thirdly, your rent WILL increase the second year. Mine increased by $200 a month. Something I was not warned about. Fourth, the elevators never work and are filthy with drippings from trash bags and dog pee and garbage. Fifth the staff here has turned over about three times in my year here. So it is difficult to maintain continuity with problems that reemerge. The newest manager as of 12/17 is an absolutely rude and aggressive. Super convenient to the Rosslyn metro though. I'm moving to the building next door after my lease expires.

We are very sorry to hear that you feel this way but know that we appreciate your feedback. We strive to provide the best residential living experience possible and we regret it if we were not able to achieve that for you. If you would like to share your experiences with management beyond the community team, we welcome you to contact Resident Relations. Thank you
The only thing going for this place is the location. The apartment walls are thin so noise between apartments is very loud. The heating and AC hardly work. The gym is the size of a walk in closet. The elevators are never working so you have to wait around 20 minutes to catch an elevator. The building is under the flight path of planes on their way into Reagan, so incoming or outbound planes start at 6 am till 11 pm at night. The planes are so loud they literally shake your windows. The grills are falling apart. For the money they charge, the place is a rip off
Lived at 1800 OAK (formerly Archstone) for nearly a year. I liked living here, but had to move due to the ever increasing cost (but on-par with the high end apartments in Rosslyn). The 2-bedroom apartment I was in was on the smaller size, but had hardwood floors, upgraded materials, and lots of windows. The unit was generally quiet, although my upstairs neighbors could be heard sometimes. Most of the residents tended to be young professionals, students, and a few families. The staff was very friendly and professional. The area is great - very close to metro and lots of outstanding restaurants. Grocery shopping is lacking (the underground Safeway is crowded and disorganized), however, there is a small shop in 1800 OAK. My only gripe is that it was expensive living at 1800 OAK; otherwise, I would have gladly stayed longer.
This apartment is in a great location to get to D.C. It's right by the Rosslyn metro station and the Key bridge for easy access to Georgetown. It's also secure and updated with amenities. The fixtures are updated as are the floors which creates a clean look inside the apartment. It is slightly more expensive than surrounding apartments and the general area immediately around the apartment is lacking in restaurants and night life.
Awesome apartment complex with nice people. New appliances, amenities, and location are great.
Just about a year ago, the apartment complex has bought by Equity Residential from Archstone Residential. The staff has changed a lot, but every single one of them are friendly. I love where I live, and would recommend it to anyone.
