About This Property
Come stay in the downstairs 1-bedroom apartment of this charming East Falls Church bungalow. This place is a great home base for all your planned activities in the DC Metro area, while still a safe, quiet oasis away from the bustle of downtown. Only a 4-minute walk to the nearest Metro subway station at East Falls Church station on the ORNG/SLV lines and 13 minutes by car to Downtown DC. Our street doubles as the Washington & Old Dominion trail, the regional bike and running trail. Experience life as a local in the lovely city of Falls Church VA, and truly enjoy your next DC area trip with a stay in this warm and well-located 1-bedroom basement apartment. Full of character, you'll feel right at home in this comfy cozy space. If you want to stay in and prepare dinner, the kitchen includes every appliance you'll need to do so including a dishwasher and oven, and is fully stocked with cookware, dishes, and utensils. You and your guests will rest in comfort. The bedroom has a king-size bed, and plenty of closet storage space for your personal belongings. The den has a full-size pullout sofabed. Additionally, the unit also has a twin-sized air mattress that guests are welcome to use. For those with young children, we can provide you with a portable crib by request only. There is a full bathroom that our cleaners keep impeccably clean, as well as a washer and dryer in the unit for your convenience. Enjoy the free high-speed Wi-Fi with which you can stay connected, stream movies, or catch up on some work. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, yet only a block from a Metro station with DC at your fingertips. Our street doubles as part of the regional bike and running trail network known as the Washington & Old Dominion trail. We are steps from the newest playground in Arlington. There are local restaurants just down the street that we like to get takeout from or sit down at, such as Yayla Bistro Turkish and Cote d’Or French for special occasions. You can also walk to South Block, a coffee and smoothie shop that is a local DC chain. In a short 5-minute drive or 20-minute walk on a nice day, you find yourself in Westover, a beautiful local shopping area in Arlington. Recommend Lost Dog Café or The Italian Store, as well as the Westover Market for necessities and an extensive beer selection. If you find yourself in need of just about anything you can probably find it at Ayer’s Hardware. In the opposite direction, you are a similar 5-minute drive or 20-minute walk to Falls Church, known as “The Little City” and it has a great community feel. On your way there walking, stop by Café Kindred for a coffee or brunch. There is a Saturday morning farmer’s market at the town community center. Dine with the locals at Dogwood Tavern or Claire and Don’s Beach Shack, and catch live music at the State Theater next door. Maneki Neko is a great spot for sushi, right on the main street Broad St/Rt 7, and Northside Social is another option for a caffeinated drink and brunch. Of course, all of these attractions are a short walk or drive from the apartment. A short drive or metro ride puts you right in the center of all the DC area has to offer. Guests will have access to the entire basement and ground level private apartment of this home. While we offer contact-less self-check-in for your convenience, we are always only a message away should you need anything at all during your stay. The upper level is occupied by long-term tenants and is not included in the rental. Thank you for your understanding. The desk that's available is adjustable with the push of a button, and can be converted as desired from a sitting to a standing desk for maximum comfort while you work. A laptop computer is not included.
