Property Ratings at 1809 at Winchester
We moved my aging grandmother from IN to these apartments because we live in Summerfield and wanted my grandmother close so we can help take care of her. After moving her in the apartments we noticed there was not lighting in the living room or bedroom (only ceiling fans) and the apartments are very dark which of course is dangerous for an aging person. My friend also lives in the complex and she has lights. We called the staff with our concerns but of course NO response so we stopped by the main office. They told us to purchase my grandmother a bunch of floor lamps because they aren’t putting lights in their units. Very rude. I do NOT recommend this place. No lights at this price point is ridiculous. I guess 1809 means it’s like living in the 1800s.
I absolutely loved living here before the new management, and even considered renewing my lease. After the Springs changed hands and became 1809 at Winchester, I am getting out of here as fast as I can. The staff working the leasing office are HORRIBLE to deal with and down right rude. Ridiculous fees that I was never charged beforehand. Now I pay additional charges each month that do not make any sense at all. I cannot wait to leave this place.

This was my first apartment and it wasn’t a good experience.. it seems every month they want to charge you for something ridiculous. “ you had trash sitting outside of apartment” and extra $25 here and there, “we don’t have(Lost) your renters insurance, if you don’t give us a new one you will be charged $15 every month” we live in an upstairs apartment that every time it rains the water puddles up by the door they have been notified many times and now there is mold because nobody wants to come fix it, also notified about the MOLD on the base boards and nobody will come fix it, absolutely disgusting. Here recently they have threatened to tow my truck because I have a ladder hanging out of my truck not to much to where a car can’t get by or it hurts anything. Another word of advice don’t live here.

You will be making a huge mistake if you decide to rent from the Springs. I lived there for two years and despite ALL of the issues I had, I kept to myself and let everything go. I scheduled a move out inspection with Katee, the property manager. The day of the inspection i was called and asked to move up my inspection as she was swamped. Again, although it was very frustrating to move up this meeting due to the office being understaffed, I dismissed it and agreed to move the meeting up. At the meeting, I was informed me that the maintenance member who is supposed to inspect carpets (since i had a dog) was not going to be able to attend the inspection I scheduled over a week prior. I had to go out of town for work the next week so Katee agreed that since I wanted to be present for the inspection that the office could FaceTime me when the maintenance member inspected the carpet as they would not agree to wait until I was back from my work trip. I sent a follow up email the following day to an office member to ensure I was "present" for the inspection. She emailed me back and said that she would email me after lunch sometime with a time for the FaceTime call. Flash forward two days and I am contacted from the same individual saying they had replaced the carpets and that I was going to be charged the total cost. I reached out to inquire as to why I was not contacted and she claimed she tried to call. I had no missed calls, no voicemail, and no email. I have since obtained call history from AT&T to verify that she in fact never tried to contact me. The office failed to prove to me that the carpet was replaced. All of the women in the office were so unbelievably rude. They went to such measures as to contact a former roommate who was no longer even on a lease and tell her I was not being cooperative. This was the same day I received the invoice that they give you 30 days to take care of and simply asked for proof. I can only hope that no other residents that live there have to deal with the nightmare I did. I honestly feel sorry for anyone who gets trapped in that mess and hope continental can better staff the office. Daily issues is that the gate to enter the complex, NEVER worked. They came in and moved switches. When doing so they broke 2 of my mirrors I had hanging and reimbursed me. I placed one jar in the cabinet and the entire thing fell apart. Do not fall for their "charm" when you first visit. IT IS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE YOU COULD MAKE.
My building is in a new development. Nice clean, quaint gated community. It's close to the main thoroughfare yet surrounded by horse farms. It's well maintained. The amenities include a club house and pool equipped with a community use grill and fire pit. There is also a pressurized car wash and a fenced in doggie play zone. My Sweet Kentucky Home!!!!
