There's much more to Champaign's sister city of Urbana than you might think. It is a lively college town, home to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, it has a long and fascinating history, and it is family-friendly and beautiful. While it is usually tied to its next-door twin, Urbana stands out on its own -- Downtown Urbana is the city hub, home to Market at the Square, a farmers market that began in 1979. The historic downtown features historic architecture, bike lanes (and plenty of bike racks), sidewalk cafes, period lighting, and a wide variety of shops and restaurants.
In addition to the university, Urbana is home to the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, a research institute located on the university's campus. The neighborhood attracts those with children, thanks to its top-ranking schools, and it features beautiful parks, such as Crystal Lake Park and Meadowbrook Park.

Property Ratings at 208 N Harvey St
I would only recommend this place if you only require two things in an apartment to be happy: close proximity to campus and covered parking. Here are the things I dislike about the place: - units are two-story, and the A/C hardly works upstairs so it's always about 10 degrees hotter upstairs where the rooms are (asked maintenance to help with this, they just closed all the vents downstairs and it didn't help at all), this is fine in the winter when you'd rather be in the warmer part of the apartment, but absolutely brutal in summer. - most pathetic little kitchen I've ever had. Only a few small cabinets to act as a pantry AND storage for your bowls/plates/pots/pans. If there was a separate pantry then this wouldn't have been an issue, but it's impossible to store a decent amount of food if you have other regular kitchen items as well. - The furniture provided is not too great. Roommate never received a dresser after asking for one, even though it's supposed to be fully furnished. Bed that was provided for me was severely caved in and caused lots of back pain, asked them for a new one and they were nice enough to replace it, but the new one was also caved in. Ended up buying my own mattress. - Black stuff comes out of the faucets if it gets too hot (at least it does with mine, not sure about other units) - Poor condition overall, many doors/walls are broken around the facility - Only one washer/dryer for the ENTIRE apartment complex, and you have to pay extra to use it still This is what I could come up with just thinking about the place for ~5 minutes. Again if all you need is a place that is close to campus and don't care about the quality of the living space too much, this apartment is fine. Anyone can manage to live here for one year, but it's not at all an ideal apartment. I would not ever live here again, however I will say that the management and employees of JSJ have been very kind and helpful through my time living here. Nice people, they just have a bad apartment.
