We are renting our 2 bedroom, 2 full bath condominium beginning July 1. The condo is located just off Dupont Circle in the exclusive, safe Kalorama-Sheridan neighborhood--home of numerous embassies and dignitaries. Among others, former President Obama and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos live several blocks away. The location is truly one of the best in DC. Unlike many places that promise "metro access" but are actually a 30-minute walk to the metro, our condo is 3 blocks from the Dupont Circle metro and everything that the Dupont Circle neighborhood has to offer (see below). But its Kalorama location gives it a true residential feel. Within a fifteen-minute walk are Georgetown, U Street, Fourteenth Street, Foggy Bottom, Woodley Park, and Embassy Row. Mitchell Park, a hidden neighborhood gem, and Rock Creek Park, with its many biking and hiking trails, are each five minutes away. The condo itself is located in one of DC's classic apartment buildings, built in 1915. Condo features include the following: - 1500 square feet; windows on three sides (fifteen windows total); surrounded by trees and sunshine - Hardwood floors - Recently renovated kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops - Two recently renovated full bathrooms, both with tub and shower - Walk-in closet in each bedroom - Built-in bookcases in second bedroom - French doors leading from living room to formal dining room - Art gallery hallway - Central heat/air conditioning - Rooftop deck with panoramic views of DC, including Washington Monument, Georgetown, National Cathedral, and Arlington - Extremely quiet building populated by long-time residents - Two recently renovated elevators in building - Pet-friendly building--pets welcome! Mitchell Park, with a large area for dogs to run, is five minutes away - Street parking in neighborhood (Zone 2); parking never a problem Other notes about the rental: - Condo comes unfurnished - One-year minimum lease. We are willing to entertain a lower monthly rent for a multi-year lease. - We strongly prefer a July 1 start date. - Roommate shares are fine, but we strongly prefer two adults max (families okay). We are willing to entertain three adults in exchange for a slightly higher rent (formal dining room can be used as a third bedroom). - There is no washer/dryer in unit. There is a shared laundry facility (recently renovated) one floor down with four washers/dryers. We have never had a problem doing laundry, and now that we are in a house with a single washer/dryer, we miss having multiple machines and doing all our laundry at once. But if you absolutely must have an in-unit washer/dryer, this is not the place for you. - The building does not have a storage unit. - This is not a party building. Many young professionals live in the building, but if you are looking for a "scene," this is not the place for you. Serious inquiries only.
