Property Ratings at 226 Oceana
Black mold everywhere! Very toxic living environment. Grounds are dirty, unprofessional. I could go on & on .. stay away from this place!

We started renting in August of 2018, at first everything was all good. Within 2 weeks the shower handle to turn on water broke. I called maintenance and they never fixed properly. The towel bar fell off cause there is no backing on wall to support it. They couldn’t fix properly either. I wasn’t able to use dishwasher for year and half cause they never took plug out of it. I have called maintenance multiple times to fix all the issues but never fixed. Also there were no screens in windows and windows never stayed up. Also the ac was great in beginning but like a month before I plan to move out , it stopped working, it now being the hottest week in July And no ac. Thermostat was down to 62 and the temperature was reading 80 degrees in here. The office ladies are rather rude lately
I hope you never get a leak in your apartment, they’ll charge you for it when you move out even when you call promptly. Not to mention having a leak in your storage and ruining all your pictures from your childhood. My husband and his friend rented here. Big mistake. Maintenance was nice but didn’t have the tools to do their work.
226 Oceana is a great community! Its quiet and well maintained. The service staff is very friendly and I'm always welcomed with a big smile and how can I help you
I just moved out of there in August and I told them 2 months in advance. I left all the information needed for them to send me my last invoice. I also went and talked to the ladies in the office and asked if there was anything else I needed to pay and I was told I should be good. I waited 2 months and got nothing. I assumed everything was good. So after 3 months (I'm now living in Texas) I get a phone call from a COLLECTION AGENCY!! They tell me that I owed money from 226 Oceana! I was so upset about it! 2 days after the phone call guess who decides to finally send me an email to tell me how much I owe???! I tried calling them but conveniently their phones weren't working. I also sent an email and never got a response. I was seriously so disappointed, I was a good tenant to this place. A phone call would've been nice! Good thing it didn't affect my credit. The only good thing was the maintenance guys! They always took care of things quickly and were very nice.
This complex is poorly managed. Water bills are outrageous, you are stuck paying for cable, even if you don't use it, pest control is lousy. rate horrible
Pest control problems, water comes out yellow and the noise is too loud. Horrible place
I love the location! 9 blocks from the oceanfront, can't beat it! The maintenance and leasing staff are also awesome - very efficient and friendly. I never run into the usual "apartment rental issues" like having a hard time finding parking or loud/strange night time activity. It's always super peaceful at night and my neighbors all nice people. I love my apartment, great price, great space. They are also really pet friendly as well - no breed restrictions. There is also a great dog run and there's always treats in the front office for my dog. Fantastic apartment complex folks, check them out.
Apartment complex was decent until recently taken over by MAA. MAA charges more for rent than the previous apartment owners. It's the same apartment for more money.
Very friendly, nice community, good school, wslking distance from the beach. Office is on the premises and they are so friendly and understanding when it comes to your need.I been living here for 12 years and love this community.
This complex is close to the beach and is close to shopping
I contacted this complex in June 2015, to move in July. I lived out of state. Their advertised pictures show nice, relatively newly renovated apartments. The pictures they emailed me were of an apartment that had not been renovated, but was clean and had new flooring and carpets and appliances. I asked them for pictures of the specific unit I would be renting, and they promised pictures, but then would refuse to send them when they were supposed to. Finally, the night before I was supposed to move in, they sent me pictures of the unit. It was old, the appliances are old, not energy efficient, damaged, and rusty. Ok, I guess I can deal with that, since I had no where else to go. Remember, I had just moved from out of state. Then the day came to sign the lease. The apartment was FOUL. It stank like dog urine. Not a faint irritating scent, but an overwhelming, nauseating stench of saturated carpets. I had NO WHERE else to go, and we stayed for two nights before I got money to stay in a hotel for nearly a week. In those two nights, my two year old daughter got pink eye from the nasty filth of the apartment. Animal waste belongs outside, not on carpets. They did replace the carpet, after I told them it made my child sick, but they didn't bother to clean the subfloor, so the apartment still stinks a bit. And then we discovered the ants and roaches. We have a court hearing next week to get out of our lease, in addition to suing then for damages. These people are misleading, unethical, and ought to be ashamed of themselves.
