The biggest efforts are seen in the winter and fall months when the town hosts donation drives like Toys for Tots. The town is very quiet but gets busy during the regionally famed Catfish Stomp. This annual festival is the biggest of the year, drawing people from across the county to enjoy pageants, a parade, gospel singing, and delicious catfish stew. The Catfish Stomp is held at Potter Community Park each year. The park also hosts other small-town events year-round.
