About This Home
Feel at home in this charming one-bedroom, one-bathroom lower unit of a colonial revival-style home, located just east of UAB near Birmingham's Red Mountain area. This pet-friendly apartment comfortably sleeps four with a queen bed and a pullout sofa. Enjoy the convenience of being walkable to restaurants and the UAB campus, with the zoo just minutes away and hiking at Red Mountain Park only 20 minutes by car. Access the apartment through a door at the back of the home, reached by walking down a sidewalk and a few stairs, which may not be ideal for those with mobility challenges. The apartment features a kitchenette equipped with all the basic essentials for light meal prep, excluding a stove, oven, and dishwasher. The kitchenette opens into a spacious living area with a Roku TV, a pullout queen sleeper sofa, a designated workspace, and additional seating. The hallway leads to a full bathroom with a tub and a king master bedroom. A pack 'n play/travel crib is available upon request. Guests have access to the entire downstairs B unit, with shared yard and parking with the upstairs A unit guests. The driveway is small and fits only one car, so street parking is recommended. Pets are welcome with a non-refundable pet fee, and they must be crated when left unattended. Pets are not allowed on furniture or beds, and all waste must be cleaned up from the yard. Situated 1.5 miles east of UAB, this apartment is walkable to a variety of great restaurants and the campus. While parking can be limited, free street parking is available, and Uber and Lyft services are readily accessible for easy transportation around the area. Check-in is contact-free with a digital door code provided prior to arrival. Guests must be 21 years of age to book. If there is evidence of pet hair on the furniture, excess hair in the home, stains, or waste found in the yard or home, you will be charged the cost to clean this. The living area includes a designated workspace, perfect for remote work. A laptop computer is not included.

One of Alabama’s oldest and most historic neighborhoods, Highland Park, is also one of its prettiest. Highland Park features hilly, wooded streets lined with a diverse collection of architecture that includes historic mansions, office towers, and apartment buildings. Other important landmarks include the Highland Park Golf Course, Virginia Samford Theatre, and the Donnelly House.
Highland Park sits along the east side of Five Points South and Southtown and is within a few blocks of the University of Alabama at Birmingham. St. Vincent Hospital and the Southview Medical Group are also located in the neighborhood. Residents enjoy local hotspots like O’Henry’s Coffee and Tea and Rojo, along with several parks, including Rufus Rhodes Park, William J. Rushton Sr. Park, and Caldwell Park. Highland Park Golf Course, the oldest golf course in Alabama, is located on the east side of the neighborhood.
