About This Property
For Lease--The Douglas Building (DB), located at the northwest corner of S Spring and W 3rd Streets in Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA), was completed in 1899 as an office building by the estate of Thomas Douglas Stimson, and is one of the most sought after adaptive re-use addresses in the Central City. Designed by Reid Brothers Architects in the "Classic Revival Style," the DB is designated by the Cultural Heritage Commission of the City of Los Angeles as Historical Cultural Monument No. 966, is located just two blocks south of City Hall and one block from the Grand Central Market. Unit 2K is a beautiful loft-style space with exposed brick and a great depth between the entry and the windows. In 2005, the DB was sold-out before it even opened. The developer took great care to utilize as much historic fabric is possible, but the units themselves, including all utilities, were new construction. The living space and kitchen is open loft-style, with a high ceiling. The wood floors are original, the full bathroom features a Waterworks bathtub and fixtures, and the kitchen has high-end Poggenpohl cabinets and countertops, as well as Bosch appliances, including a gas stovetop. Convenient parking is available for lease in one of three structures steps from the DB lobby. The DB is a dog (and cat!) loving building and the Police Headquarters "dog park" lawn is only a block away at Spring and Second Streets, as is the new Regional Connector subway station. Although the DB has no amenities, DTLA itself is the amenity, including the Grand Central Market, Grand Park, the Music Center, The Broad and many restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. We hope you'll come to see Unit 2K soon!
