Lower Highlands, known as LoHi, is a family-friendly neighborhood just three miles outside of Denver, where you’ll find the Colorado State Capitol, Civic Center Park, the Denver Art Museum, and so much more. LoHi boasts a variety of local burger joints, taverns, beer gardens, and coffee shops such as Recess Beer Garden and Root Down, an old filling station turned New American eatery. LoHi is located near major parks such as the City of Cuernavaca Park along the South Platte River, boasting biking and hiking trails with scenic city views.
Hirshorn Park is a smaller neighborhood park that’s worth a visit, housing baseball fields, basketball courts, and a playground. Nestled along Interstate 25, commuting is no issue in LoHi, especially with Denver so close, but if you don’t plan to drive, there are plenty of public bus stops on the area’s major roads.

So far I am loving my new place! It is very spacious, great storage, and the built-in desk is so convenient. The kitchen has a huge island so I don't have to waste space with a table. Loving every aspect! There's nothing about my apartment that I would change that the property do anything about/change - only downside I've come across is the noise from the street. But I love the location, so I can handle a bit of noise.
Living here has been great. I've been here for a year and the staff is always super accommodating and friendly to me and my dog.
I have been at this apartment for the past 4 years and I love living here. They are extremely generous and always good to my dog. We are very lucky to have found this place. :)

We have been living in our current apartment for a little over a month and are really enjoying the community. The location is fantastic, with close proximity to downtown (walkable) and to the highway. The community is welcoming with nice accommodations and comfortable spaces to spend time outside of the apartment. The property managers are attentive and helpful.

The facilities are really nice and management is super attentive. Maintenance requests are responded to almost immediately and the whole community has a very welcoming vibe. The location is incredible and the units are beautiful and you can tell well cared for.

I recently relocated from Los Angeles, and I signed a lease here sight unseen. I can confidently say it was a fantastic decision! Everything about the process has been smooth and above and beyond. Hannah and Morgan were really friendly and helpful, and my unit is awesome! Appliances are new and fixes are addressed promptly. Very happy here at 2828 Zuni. Truly.

The community is amazing. The staff is super responsive, always polite and truly care about the people (and the pets) that live here. Robert is always willing to come save the day when it comes to maintenance or even minor clean-ups. The community is well maintained and quiet, and it truly feels like a nice home to come back to after a long day at work or traveling around the country.

This is a fantastic location! Sarah, Tony, and Robert are so kind and accommodating. It is a very pet friendly environment with great residents and a helpful community. All of the residents are kind to each other. This location is walking distance to great restaurants and also easy access to I-25 and downtown. The units and appliances are in great condition. Anyone looking to live in this area should definitely look here first. Like the previous review, you will not regret it!

Move here. You won't regret it. I signed the lease site unseen, and boy am I glad I did. I got a new job in Downtown Denver. I was living in Los Angeles. I had one week to find a place to live in Denver. I checked several neighborhoods and decided that Highlands was the right place for me. Why? Young professionals who want to live near (and be able to walk to) Downtown without having to deal with the vagrants or noise of living directly in Downtown. There were several options. Most of them looked nice from the photographs online, but it was the staff of 2828 Zuni that stood out. Michelle, Sarah, Robert - all of them are rock stars. Michelle was my point of contact throughout the entire process. I made her run around taking photographs of the fitness center, asking her all kinds of strange questions about living in the apartment like how much noise there is outside at night (answer: zero), and she responded to me promptly and without hesitation every single time. I looked at and read these reviews when I was searching, and it's a fact that the reviews are all stellar - especially about Michelle, Sarah and Robert. It's true. I firmly stand behind my 5-stars. The apartment is bigger than I imagined. Beautiful spacious kitchen. Big bathrooms. Gorgeous granite counter tops. It seems brand new. Everything is spotless. Even the downstairs garage is spotless. Not a single piece of trash! I'm beginning to think that no one lived in this apartment before me! The sunroom/grill area is beautiful. The lounge is warm and welcoming. Coffee in the morning downstairs if you want. Fitness center to get in shape (lots of cardio, rowing machine, benches, dumbbells up to 65lbs, smith machine for heavy lifting etc). Incredibly secure building (need electronic key fobs to get in and out). Small community makes the transition (especially from out-of-state) feel much more comfortable. Sprouts, Walmart, Home Depot a couple of miles northwest. Loads of restaurants, bars, coffee shops walking distance. Union Station / 16th St. Mall Downtown exactly 1.0 miles walk (15-20 minutes). I'm happy I'll be living at 2828 Zuni for another year. I couldn't imagine a better place to call home.

My husband and I moved here from Alabama, not knowing anyone! 2828 Zuni became our home instantly. We have lived at 2828 Zuni for almost a year! It is has been the best experience. We love the staff Michelle, Sarah, and Robert. They are so helpful, accommodating, quick to respond, and SO friendly! The few times we have need maintenance (VERY FEW) Robert has fixed the issue that day, usually within minutes of my placing a service order! The location can not be beat! I think LoHi is the best location you can live in Denver! You are within walking distance of amazing restaurants, breweries (Zuni street brewery is right across the street!), shopping, and you can cross the pedestrian bridge and be in LoDo within 10 minutes. We have two dogs, and it has been really nice to live somewhere where dogs are welcomed! The apartment layout is very spacious and modern, with nice additions like new appliances, granite countertops, large balcony's, a really nice sun deck, free yoga classes on Thursday, and an espresso machine! If we were not moving we would be living here for years to come! I can not recommend this apartment complex more! If you are moving to Denver, and want to live in the best location, at the best apartment (for an unbeatable price), with amazing staff and neighbors move to 2828 Zuni!

I lived at 2828 Zuni for five years (2014 to 2019) and intentionally waited to write a review until I moved out so I wouldn't be biased. I LOVE IT. The staff, Sarah and Michele as of Feb 2019, are both great. Always accommodating and easy to work with. The location of this property is amazing, I work from home and wanted some place that was both quite, but also walking distances to a lot of amenities (bars, coffee shops, restaurants, and grocery store). This building fit the bill. I also wanted a spacious floor plan with good views, which I had on the fourth floor in a one bedroom plus den. There are a lot of work from home and new to Denver residents in the building. The crowd seem to be mostly in their young 30's to early 40's. Great place to live.

2828 Zuni has been a great place to live. My husband and I chose it because of the floor plans and location and actually signed our lease without ever touring since we were out-of-state. I work from home and love the ability to walk downtown, or quickly hop on I-25 to get out of town. Having assigned parking in the garage is appreciated, especially during the winter. With the recent change in management to the Cardinal Group, I was concerned that perks like the fantastic coffee machine might change, but it’s been upgraded to local Boulder organic coffee and we got keep Michelle on the leasing team, who always brightens my day. They’ve also switched to healthier dog treats in the lobby. The new maintenance supervisor, Robert, is communicative and went above and beyond by taking out smelly trash when he was recently in our apartment for a repair while we were out of town.

Not a bad place to live if your trying to be right by the Highlands and Downtown Denver. Great restaurants and a good night life. Rent is pretty high and it doesn't appear to be slowing down. Unfortunately, seems pretty common throughout the area. Comments about the apartments - almost zero sound from hallways and next door neighbors. Can hear upstairs neighbors walking and sometimes barking dogs, but it does seem to be thinner ceilings and floors than walls. Not really annoying unless your upstairs neighbors don't utilize the gym. Great little gym on the first floor, by the way. Pretty large 1-bdrm apt with a big kitchen and a nice island counter to cook. Good size bathroom with washer/dryer in the closet. Wish there was a bit more storage in the apt., but they do have rentable space in house if you have a bunch of stuff. Balconies aren't anything special, but enough room for a small table and couple of chairs. Gets the job done. Saw some comments on Yelp about issues with new mgmt and flooding. I haven't experienced it living on the other side though. Ugly rafter up to try and fix it, but hasn't impacted my experience. New mgmt seems to have their hands full, but meets my few small requests exceptionally.
2828 is a great location if you are looking for an apartment building that gives you access to Denver without being in the hustle of LODO. The demographics of the building are high 20's professionals looking for quiet living in a trendy neighborhood. Recommended for those looking for quiet living in Denver.
