About 30 Washington Street
Once an integral part of DUMBO’s proud manufacturing past, 30 Washington, located on a charming cobblestone street, now holds close to one hundred units, some with private outdoor terraces, all with luxurious, modern amenities, including a rooftop deck designed by James Corner Field Operations of High Line fame. Together with 25 Washington, the building frames the iconic view of the Manhattan Bridge flooding social media on a daily basis. 30 Washington’s expertly preserved exterior recalls the building’s integral role as part of Brooklyn’s proud manufacturing past. Located on idyllic Brooklyn Bridge Park, the classic, traditional brick structure of 30 Washington offers the perfect combination of old and new. 30 Washington’s ambiance remains intact as it retains its unique architectural features, such as large wooden beams, round factory windows, and skylights preserved from the building’s original structure, while its redesigned interiors provide each home with a decidedly modern sense of luxury. Sandwiched between the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Bridge, this tiny waterfront neighborhood began as an industrial area in the 19th century. Local lore says that when artists moved into the neglected Victorian factories in the late '70s, they dubbed the area Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass, or DUMBO, as counter-branding to thwart potential developers. Today, the renovated factories have transformed into apartments and lofts, many retaining original timber beams and red brick walls. In addition to the historic digs and cobblestone streets, residents list short commutes to Manhattan as a major draw, with 10-minute subway rides to the Lower East Side and 20-minute rides to Midtown.
Encircled by parks and bike paths, DUMBO offers grassy lawns and sweeping views of the East River. The area remains home to many art galleries, as well as St. Ann's Warehouse, a performing arts venue.

Property Ratings at 30 Washington Street
I live in this building and I want prospective renters to know that its not safe. I was buglarlized over a year ago and recently there's been additional break ins. Management is not taking adequate steps to ensure safety of residents. If you are going to pay this much in rent you should know that units are being broken into or safe half your rent and live elsewhere.
