Located just minutes from Downtown Des Moines to the east, with Des Moines University to the west and the parks along the Raccoon River to the south, Haines Park-Owl’s Head Estates is a charming residential neighborhood. This quiet residential area of housing developments, tree-lined streets, and cul-de-sacs maintains a relatively upscale allure among the Des Moines landscape. There’s an even mix of upscale and modern apartment communities, long-standing townhomes, and incredible single-family homes for rent. The downtown area sits just minutes away and offers residents a variety of choices for culture, dining, and nightlife activities. The area’s close proximity to several city-run parks that line the river also provides opportunities for outdoor recreation and family fun. Interstate 235 and Grand Avenue are just a few blocks north, making a commute to Downtown Des Moines or a journey around the rest of the state simple.

Property Ratings at 3000 Grand Apartments
I see what my family has been going through just to get things fixed and the incompetence of the staff. The excuses they have I would not live here. People should read all reviews the good and bad then ask questions. Before you come here
We have been living in these apartments for about 5 months and have been very happy here. The apartment units are homey with large living room and dining room spaces. We have been able to have lots of family over and comfortably be able to accommodate everyone. We always feel safe here and haven't had any issues with loud neighbors or anything like that. Maintenance has been quick and responsive if we ever need them; issues are normally resolved within a day.
Bats in the stairwells, when I moved in there were over 10 dead stink bugs around the apartment. Additionally, the water from the tap requires filtering to eliminate black flecks of who knows what. But the front desk and maintenance staff is great and are willing to help with any issues. Fellow residents are friendly and helpful.
High quality living without a huge price tag. Lots of amenities and a fantastic staff team. Great neighborhood with access to lots of businesses and restaurants. Units are sizable and very functional. Entire property is very well maintained.
Staff is friendly and available, maintenance requests are met in a timely manner, small workout room is convenient, outdoor parking is free (plenty of spaces), indoor parking is available.
I have very much enjoyed my experience at 3000 Grand since moving in to my 2 bedroom apartment 6 months ago! Pros: Maintenance quick to respond, large and clean pool, big living spaces, large closets, quiet, great location, friendly staff Cons: No in-unit laundry, laundry is expensive ($1.75 to wash and $1.50 to dry), sometimes there was limited parking in the summer, limited to no lighting from ceilings Overall, I would recommend 3000 Grand to prospective residents!
Very convenient and reasonably priced for DMU students. Haven’t had any issues in the past year and a half.
Great apartment complex. It is pretty quiet, and I rarely hear my neighbors. The studio apartment is decently sized and laid out well for a studio. There are laundry rooms on each floor rather than in each unit though.
Great place to live for DMU students. Staff is great to work with and maintenance issues are fixed quickly.
3000 Grand Ave Apartments is a great place to live. It is near a grocery store and a pharmacy. It is also close to numerous restaurants and coffee houses. It is a straight shot up 31st to Hwy 235. Office and maintenance staff are friendly, but even more importantly always ready to take care of problems. Common areas are well kept and clean. Additional benefits are a gym, pool, and library. There are nice laundry facilities on each floor. An added benefit is recycling bins. In addition, it is a security building. We love living here and highly recommend it.
If you are reading reviews for apartments to lease, DISREGARD ALL REVIEWS FROM 11/20/18 ONWARD. They are having a contest for a discount on rent, and to enter, you have to give 4-5 star reviews on all platforms. This apartment is disgusting. There are bats 24/7 in the halls and rooms, garbage everywhere, and the elevators are constantly broken. Someone got stuck in one a few months ago and got hurt. Everything leaks, especially in the rain/snow, and then you have to wait 1-2 weeks for someone to fix it. There are so many better options than this place.
A great place to live with wonderful residents and a leasing office that meets your every need. Nice amenities, beautiful views and affordable rates.
The building is concrete and steel. Very quiet. I've lived at other places where the neighbors above you would sound like herds of buffalo roaming. The leasing staff is always accommodating. I've had a few maintenance issues that were resolved the same day I submitted the requests. 3000 Grand Apts. has assigned carport and underground, heated parking at an additional cost. I can't comment for how difficult it is to park if you don't do either of those options. The apartments are a little dated, so if you're looking for a luxurious, remodeled place, you're going to have to pay more at another building. All-in-all, I'm pleased with my apartment, the building, and the staff, and will renew my lease.
