Property Ratings at 310 Jefferson Apartments
It takes many weeks to get maintenance done. The front gate has been broken for at least five months. Good luck trying to reach someone from the leasing office.
No parking spots for paid parking and the front office would rather turn you away than help. Would not recommend. it’s not worth the money

LISTEN TO EVERYONE WHO SAYS "DO NOT MOVE HERE!" I fell in love with this place when I was looking for apartments with my roommates and they loved it too. We learned shortly after moving in that they changed parking rules. Even though the rules made it more accomodating for all of us to park our cars inside the complex, it would become an extra monthly fee on top of rent and utilities starting January 2021(managed by parking permit app, Reliant). Apartment amenities are not well kept. Dog owners that visit dog parks rarely pick up after their own dogs. The printer in the business center is ALWAYS out of ink or not working. I remember talking to other residents who said that since they changed management, they didn't do as well as they did before. The office staff is less than accommodating when trying to report an issue or requesting maintenance for an apartment fix. We have had several issues with the apartment itself. The sliding closets would break often and the drains are small that they would clog up easily. We have had a spider and roach infestation which caused us to leave the apartment for a few days. They confirmed it was done by the time we came back but the spiders came back in less than a week and we still saw roaches here and there. It wasn't until we bought something off of amazon that helped get rid of the problem completely. As for safety within the community, I would say it started off alright when we moved in but towards the later half of the year, we noticed more cop cars around our building and surrounding buildings as well as people waiting in front of the gates to let them in. I would think residents would at least know the code to the gate which makes me think this community isn't as secure as they say it is. I'd say I've been seeing more people move out than into the community within the last 6 months.

We have been there for almost 3 years. Thought after the construction would finish the roach problem would go away.... no it didn’t. They seem to appear more when pest controls comes, and ants all summer. The new management doesn’t not have any communication skills. At the start of Covid my hours were cut asked how can they accommodate us they told us to ask the government then said if I don’t pay by a certain date further action will be taken. What!? They never gave a run down of what would happen nor did they empathize. Save your money or spend that little extra and go else where.

Hello, We are so sorry to hear you've had a negative experience at Merrick. We know construction can be a hassle, but we are happy to report that our resident buildings are complete! If you are having any issues with pest control please contact the leasing office and we will be happy to schedule you for service 9/8. We try our best to answer every email and phone call within 24 hours, we apologize for any delay! It is unfortunate that you and your family are affected by COVID-19. We know these are stressful times and apologize for any miscommunication that may have occurred. Please contact the leasing office with any questions or concerns.
I’ve lived here for about a year and a half. It’s been a good experience until the exterior construction on my building started. While doing work on the outside of my unit, the construction workers negligently put several holes and cracks in my interior living room wall, getting construction and insulation debris all over my couch and carpet. If my couch had been in a slightly different position, it would have been cut through as well. I filed a maintenance request for it to be repaired as soon as I discovered the holes, but it’s been 6 weeks and I still have holes in my wall. Until last week, the outside of the building was left bare, halfway covered with a tarp that fell down and was never replaced. The sun shone into my living room through those holes. This raises some serious privacy concerns for me as well. We’re getting bugs like spiders and roaches in through the holes. It’s been a nightmare. I’ve talked to management several times about this and nothing has been done. Nothing. I had to clean up the debris inside my apartment by myself, even though I specifically told them that I didn’t know if it was safe to touch. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but I don’t know what else to do to get management’s attention on this issue.

We are sorry to hear about this experience and that construction accidentally made a mistake. We actually had you scheduled to fix on 4/30, however your husband told us we could not fix that day and he would schedule for a later date. After you stopped by the office today, we got you scheduled to fix at 9AM tomorrow. We were glad to get you taken care of ASAP
This is by far the worst living situation I've ever had. Parking is a nightmare. Never enough! And it's been under construction since I moved in last June. First it was inside my apartment. Now it's external. They call it their "extreme makeover." Construction vehicles and workers everywhere all day M-F. And I found a screw in my tire yesterday and spent 4 hours at Costco waiting in line for a repair. No doubt that screw was from all this construction. Merrick offers no break in rent or any other compensation for the inability to use the apartment and patio space I'm paying for, nor for all of the constant disruptions (I wish I could attach pics and video, you'd be amazed!). Yesterday they sawed through my drywall while attempting to remove stucco and install new wall boards outside. I now have a 4-ft crack and missing baseboard in my living room wall and the pouring rain is seeping in. Waiting for maintenance as we speak! And I'm told my building remodel will last until late April. My advice would be to avoid this complex in 2019...maybe forever given their lack of concern for residents!
Worse place to live Rude leasing office staff No proper Maintenance service Stealing of bikes and stuff very frequently Breaking of Cars very frequently Mails get stolen out side from apartments All above even though it is gated community. When you go and tell the Management they only tell you to report 911. They do have patrols by security services but not for the safety and security for the residents, that is to only check which vehicle didn’t have the parking tag and get the same towed away and also make money from Towing company.
What you can expect from this property: 1. a warm welcome from Star, the manager of the property. She is very nice and gives a firm handshake. She makes you feel like everything is alright. 2. You are guaranteed to always find a parking spot 24/7 in the complex, although it may not be near your apartment. The furthest spot I found was about a 2-minute walk from my front door. 3. Water bugs. Now, you may be thinking that those don't sound too bad. That's because water bugs are not that bad, and there are no water bugs in this complex. They will tell you that you may find a water bug in your place, but water bugs are aquatic and stay near bodies of water. What you will find are cockroaches. They are usually between 1-2 inches in length and they will live with you. For us, we found a cockroach about once a month: in our living room, under our fridge, in our bed, in the bathtub. 3. The manager, Star, will tell you some very good things, but will not follow through with them. 4. You will probably have annoying neighbors who will break rules of the apartment complex. They will probably never be addressed. 5. You may also try to break a rule, but you will suffer the consequences. 6. Your AC may break on a hot day. They may not be able to fix it for three day because they do not know how to fix it. 7. Some of the apartments in this complex are remodeled (more expensive to rent), and some are not. If you rent a non-remodeled apartment, you may be kicked out of your place in any given month and your lease will be voided. This will be so that they can remodel your building. 8. You may find graffiti from people from the neighboring gang territory Atwood. 9. This complex is located adjacent to a train track. Your building will shake when an industrial-grade train comes by. It should never last for more than 5 minutes. 10. The complex is also in a "no horn zone" for the trains. Some trains do not abide by this. If you leave your windows open for a nice cool breeze while you sleep, you may be woken up by the train horn. It does not happen every night, perhaps a few times per week. 11. Star, previously mentioned manager, will not be kind to you on the phone. Make sure you visit her in person if you wish to experience her fake, unauthentic professionalism. The rent here is actually a good price compared to other apartments of similar quality.
