Property Ratings at 322 Baldwin
There are apartments elsewhere with similar amenities that would be better worth your time and energy. The level of unprofessionalism from the management company is surreal. If you need help with something, good luck. More Significant Issues: (1) Significant parking issues - not enough spaces (2) Little to no enforcement of rules - trash areas are a health hazard (3) Little to no communication on issues happening on the property - did not tell community two motorcycles were stolen on premises and it took 3 days to report one of the elevators as not working (4) Safety hazard - when the elevator was broken, there was exposed wiring as the button to call the elevator was missing - this was exposed for 2 days. Example of day-to-day more minor frustrations: We just had a package go missing (save the dates for our wedding) and asked the front desk to please double check the lockers. In the past, we had a package get lost in the lockers around Christmas time & the staff found it when they looked (After rolling their eyes at me and also refusing to look to start). The staff told us they would not check and dismissed us. After an hour of back and forth (us going upstairs and downstairs looking for proof of delivery), another woman overhearing the entire conversation, finally offered to help. Think about it - they wouldn't even double check the lockers - lack of empathy and unprofessional.
The building itself and rooms are nice. However, the squared footage you get is minimal compared to what else is in the area. The rooms are way overpriced, and the amenities aren't any better than what's available at other complexes. Staff is horrible at answering emails, but usually pick up phone calls.
I’ve been at the Point at Odenton for almost a year and have loved every minute of it. I found the apartment online before moving from Japan and the leasing office made it SUCH an easy process. Jonathan sent me videos and photos of my apartment and answered any questions I had. Upon arrival, my move in was super easy and quick. They had everything already prepared for me and even helped me with information on where I could get a money order locally to pay my fees due at move in. If it weren’t for my ridiculous commute to work in DC traffic (I work near Alexandria, VA), I would definitely be renewing my lease. I will miss this apartment and the people who work here! I highly recommend living here!
I Moved to the point at Odenton over memorial day weekend and Jonathan did such a great job moving us in! We have made so many friends with the neighbors, the ameneties are amazing, And everyone seems to have dogs. The best part of being here so far was the doggie dip!
I held off on writing a review when I first moved in back in October of '17 because the first impressions from the staff were actually really great and I didn't want that to cloud my review (being starry eyed and all that). Now about eight months in I can still say The Point at Odenton is treating me very well. First things first, price...they are very competitively priced compared to the nearby residences. Especially when you consider they are still a very new complex (less than 5 years old). My one bedroom is $100-$200 less than smaller one bedrooms in most of the Ft Meade/Odenton/Hanover area and has all the things you would expect from "Luxury" apartments. I'm talking about the really nice stainless steel appliances, the nice hardwood styled flooring in the kitchen/living room areas and fresh carpet in the bedroom. Granite counter tops are nice and the washer/dryer in the unit make life easier. Now about the service, I have not had many service requests but can say that the one time I needed them (when I moved in to have the glass top of the stove replaced and a window blinds replaced from damage from prior tenants) they were very prompt, had both fixed within a week. The front desk has always been very polite and helpful. As some of the other reviews point out, as an animal friendly place there are sometimes pet related accidents in common/shared areas such as elevators and stairwells. This is bound to happen when there are dozens of new pet owners though anytime you bring it to the attention of the front desk or a passing maintenance team member they promptly take care of it. And really that is all you can ask for, they cant prevent every accident but always try to fix it. I hope this review is helpful but honestly just stop in and let Jonathan and the rest of the team help you into your next apartment, maybe I will see you out in the giant central courtyard for one of the many summer BBQ's that are always going on or just relaxing in the pool! ~Dom
I've lived here for a little over a year and can attest that there are good and bad things about the complex. The good things are that the complex is modern looking, has decent amenities, and has controlled access. Unfortunately, the lounge areas are either dirty/smoky (as of recent) or there's a party going on and you can't even enjoy the area. The parking is also awful so good luck finding a free spot for yourself, let alone for any guest you may have. Also, what's up with all the pitbulls? I thought that was a restricted breed? Lastly, when you plan to renew your lease, expect management to increase your rent, while offering your same style apartment to new tenants for $200-300/mo cheaper. Hope new management cleans this up soon or they'll never get good quality tenants.
new owners in may-june and since then they've saved money on maintenance. elevator broken multiple times for days and no rush to fix it. burned out lights in courtyard. dog urine in hallways. with just a little effort they could get back to the way it was.
I just moved here and about a month ago, and I love it. I came right around the time the building switched to the new management company. My apartment is huge with an open floor plan and I have beautiful stainless steel appliances, the staff is awesome! I was introduced to Heather, the new property manager and she was very welcoming when I met her, there has been a few hiccups, but nothing out the ordinary living in apartment community. I also must mention that I work in DC and if you do as well, the Marc train is a 5 minute walk.
