Property Ratings at 333 River Street
Building is LOUD. So if you're a remote worker take that into consideration. Not just talking about neighbor noise (my neighbors are actually quiet), but just constant work being done on the patios like jackhammering, power washing at all hours, etc. and kids screaming constantly. There is also constant renovation in nearby units with pounding, jackhammering, etc. It's basically never peaceful and the insulation of the windows does nothing, particularly in the bedrooms. I've had to reschedule calls because the person on the other end couldn't hear me over the noise, which is unacceptable. So for anyone working remotely take this into consideration.
~500 apartments, many of which are infested with screaming kids, with parents who encourage the kids to yell at the top of their lungs in all public areas of the building... and the building encourages it... oh and heat/ac issues in common areas virtually every day... if you don't love shrieking children, stay away
The best thing about this building is the location. It's along the Hudson and across from mid-town Manhattan with great views of the skyline. It's a short walk to the PATH train, which takes you right into New York with stops from Christopher to 33rd and a line to the World Trade Center. It's a few blocks from Washington Street, which is the center of Hoboken's packed and varied restaurant and bar scene. (Amanda's - best place to take your parents; El Charrito - best guacamole; La Isla - best Cuban; Crepe Guru - best crepes and gurus; and more). You can watch the tourists waiting at Carlo's bakery! There's also shopping at Anthropologie and some other boutiques. The building has a nice lobby with a staffed front desk. There is a grocery store in the block and a full-service gym in the next block. There is also a work-out room in the building with cardio equipment, weight machines and free weights. There is a very large playground and outdoor area. It's a great place to sit out in the lounge chairs and watch the lights come on in the city. My apartment has a balcony, too and many apartments do. The apartment itself is very clean and nice. Mine is a one-bedroom and quite comfortable. The tenants are mostly young professionals. People are generally quiet and pleasant. The ones I have met are very interesting with jobs in banking and technology.
My fiance and I have been living in this apartment for a few months. We love the location (minutes from PATH and restaurants and shops) and the views from both our living room and bedroom windows. We have the luxury to wake up and see the freedom tower and empire state building right outside. The apartment was just recently renovated so we have new kitchen appliances and countertops. The floors have been replaced too, so kudos to management for renovating! The one draw back is that the apartment is right above two restaurants so we frequently get the smells from the kitchen and noise on weekend nights. We have to sleep with the windows closed, but it has not been an issue so far as we enjoy all the other perks (location, views, and renovation).
