East Coast commuters and residents seeking a central location clamor for property in the compact, walkable neighborhood of Downtown Bridgeport. Here, the historic stone buildings of McLevy Square stand just blocks from the towering glass People's United Bank building, creating an appealing blend of old-world charm and modern convenience.
The multi-story buildings along Downtown Bridgeport's wide streets contain an array of lofts and apartments, many constructed after the year 2000. A well-maintained network of sidewalks makes it easy for residents to gather at Trattoria 'A Vucchella before making the short stroll to the Downtown Cabaret Theatre or the WebsterBank Arena.
From its position in the center of Bridgeport, the downtown neighborhood offers easy access to cities up and down the coast. New Haven lies 20 miles to the northeast, and New York City sits 60 miles southeast.

Property Ratings at 333 State Street
Renovated apartment but apparent rodent infestation. Shouldn’t be advertised as an upscale apartment with mice. Not worth it at the price.
Beautiful apartments! Located in a very convenient neighborhood. Close to everything! Apartments are huge!! If it was closer to my job I would move in however it’s not at the moment so the commute would be difficult but I’m happy I got the experience to view these beautiful homes.
At the heart of downtown Bridgeport, this apartment building is a walkable distance from the Bridgeport train station. Our unit was very, very spacious, which was a plus. When I had some issues during my time here, Lori, the property manager, was able to help get resolutions. Overall, I was pleased with my stay.
I lived here for a year last year and it was by far the worst possible experience you could imagine. When moving in I noticed the ceiling by the window was patched up. A month after moving in the ceiling above my window started to leak. Imagine every time it rains you have five gallons of water and plaster falling from the ceiling for 10 months. Management was completely useless and all they did was lie saying “we’re starting work next week”. This went on for about 6 months after which they basically just said “sorry we can’t fix it” there was mold and the health department got involved. Finally we moved and never looked back. This issue happens to everyone so be super careful and stay away. They only care about the rent check and other than that they don’t want to hear from you.
Positives - spacious living room, maintenance would eventually get fixed after multiple reminders, friendly neighbors, close to many restaurants Negatives - AC seems to not reach bedroom when door is shut, not being able to open windows, cheap looking cabinets, man stealing packages / beggars as soon as you walk outside (not best location), not receiving security deposit back within 30 days as per lease agreement
I moved here almost 3 years ago w/the intention of moving after 1 yr. It's such a great bldg I changed my mind & stayed. Apartments are beautiful, large, bright & new! Windows are huge! The bldg is well maintained & no more snow shoveling(yay)! It's cleared immediately! And it's safe here in downtown! I've walked my dog as late as 1AM & never a problem. People living in downtown are friendly and actually say "good morning" on the street. Bonuses; washer & dryer in the apartment & a few blocks from the beach (Seaside Park)! Take my dog to the park all the time. Don't let the naysayers scare you away, Bridgeport is a big city. Anyway, it's a great place to live. :)
This was my first apartment moving back to CT from NYC. I saw the ad for the apartment and decided to check it out since it was so close to the metro-north, and I'd still be commuting to NYC everyday. I instantly fell in love with it! The interior is spacious, modern and clean with tall ceilings and huge windows. We had a great view of the Long Island sound! Everything about this apartment was convenient. It had elevators, dishwasher, washer and dryer IN THE UNIT, small gym inside the building and a maintenance person available regularly for any issues. To top it off it was only a 5 minute walk to the train! The only reason why we are leaving is to own vs. rent. I will miss everything about this apartment and the management staff.
I've been here almost 2 years but sadly have to move to another state for school. This is a great place to live with very friendly and very responsive staff. It's quiet ... yet your neighbors will not bother you if you cranked up the music once in a while. The apartments are nice and very spacious. The icing on the cake is the built in washer and dryer in all apartments. No need to worry about carrying laundry, having enough coins and such. The windows are large and wide and bring in lots of light into your apartment. The tenants also seem rather nice and the apartments are in a good place in town next to the government centers and the picturesque downtown is just a stroll away. Busses are frequent for those, like me, without cars and are free, if you are a student in the greater Bridgeport area (including neighboring cities). I'm leaving not because I want to but because I have to ... and that's a huge disappointment for me. Omar, the maintenance guy is one super helpful guy, always willing to help. Just try to get him to smile now and then and you'll be golden :-)
I have lived here for almost a year. This is the nicest, most well-kept, comfortable apartment I have ever lived in ... in my entire life. I was able to move in with my 2 little dogs which was "icing on the cake".
My husband and I were tenants here for six months and during that time the landlord and staff were accommodating and helpful. They responded to requests in a timely manner and I loved my apartment here- spacious, airy and clean. I also liked that the building is diverse in terms of its tenants and its so close to the train station. There are also a lot of good delivery options.
I lived at 333 State for 2 years in a 1 bedroom unit. It was absolutely wonderful, I felt incredibly safe and comfortable the entire time I was there. Having the washer and dryer in my bedroom was a wonderful perk. Omar is such a nice guy who will help you with anything that you need. My only wish is that this wasn't the first apartment I've ever rented. Nothing else in this price range compares!
I've been renting a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment here for the past 2 years. It is the cleanest, quietest, most kept building I have ever lived in. It is conveniently located right off major highways and walking distance to the metro-north/Amtrak. The building owner Bob, his assistant Jayne and maintenance guy Omar are absolutely amazing. It is with great sadness I am leaving, but that's only because I bought in a town 25 miles away. If I was staying in the area I would have stayed much longer. Do yourself a favor and rent an apartment here!
Fantastic building in downtown Bridgeport. Five minute walk to train station (MetroNorth and Amtrak), restaurants and cafes. Gorgeous units with high ceilings, huge windows, modern kitchens and beautiful bathrooms. Washer and dryer in the apartments. Management and tenants are extremely pleasant. And it's very pet friendly too. - Juan
Great Apartment Complex! High ceilings, large rooms, huge windows and open floorplans make these apartments feel open and airy. Everyone in the building is extremely friendly from the tenants to management and maintenance. The building is very well maintained and management continues to add new ammenities for the tenants. Located right in downtown Bridgeport within walking distance to great restaurants and cafes. I would highly recommend 333 State Street. -Kiersten & Erik
Tasteful and luxurious, residential living experience! Owner is personable and keeps the property well kept with the help of his efficient maintenance staff and leasing agent. I am from Stamford and I've heard horror stories about Bridgeport but the property makes me feel right at home! The location is in a centralized area, easy access to trains and public transportation and shopping! Best rental experience I've had!
Apt is superb for the cost. Area is located in downtown Bridgeport which is expanding. Great restaurants, beautiful parks off long island sound. New York City is an 1 hr 15 min by vehicle. Train is within walking distance and takes 1 hr 30 min into the city. Bluefish minor league team,Webster arena for great college games, concerts, Bridgeport Tiger hockey team(AHL). Get in on the ground up before you miss out on a great city.
