Manhattanville, sometimes referred to as West Harlem, is a vibrant neighborhood combining the urban vibe of Harlem with the intellectual presence of nearby Columbia University and the City College of New York. A host of university students, faculty, and staff call Manhattanville home, shaping much of the area’s rental opportunities.
Manhattanville’s cultural legacy is rich, touting numerous jazz clubs throughout the neighborhood along with quick access to the famous Apollo Theater. Although the neighborhood sits far north in Manhattan, a wealth of public transportation options make it easy to connect to the rest of NYC.

Property Ratings at 3333 Broadway
I've lived here for almost two years, and this apartment is the worst place I've ever lived. The elevator is always out of service, dirty water frequently comes out of the taps, and they frequently cut off the water supply. It takes an hour to retrieve a package from the package room, and I've lost packages several times. However, they claim no responsibility for lost packages. You can find dog poop everywhere in front of the building, and sometimes you can even see urine inside the building. It seems like nobody cleans the building. Despite these issues, if you love Harlem and the community, you may still find it enjoyable.
The elevators are constantly broken. There are 2 laundry rooms servicing 5 building, and one of them has been closed for over 3 months, which makes doing laundry a hustle. You can often see mice and dog debris right outside the lobby. And managment is impossible to reach.
1. Security: they never make you feel secure. I had someone keep knocking my door for begging $1. Security was not helpful as they arrive always as late as possible. And I installed the ring to show and find who the person is. I brought it to security and they told me they cant do anything because the guy is also a residence. 2. Package room: VERY CONVENIENT that you will always loose your package or line up for 1hr for getting yours. But they are the best workers in the apartment for sure. 3. Maintenance; Either they dont have a phone or they never answer your phone. No information for anything. And all notices from management never happens 4. I see water leaking at lobby for 2 yrs, which means they only fix it by putting a bucket. 5. Elevator: for sure it is better nowadays. 6. Bugs: i live with cockroaches that is about the size of my hand. And I named the spider as charlie as it always comes to my bathroom ceiling. Now here is a some good part : 1. Price is cheaper than other apartment (but I now know there is a reason) 2. The view. I would never recommend anyone to move here
Believe the negative reviews and think seriously whether you want the stress in your life. There will be giant roaches in your apartment and in the laundry room, your maintenance requests will go unanswered, the elevators will go out and you will either be left waiting for 5-10 minutes or in some cases have to take the steps because ALL the elevators are down. When you take a tour they will tell you that the elevators are being replaced and that the issue will be resolved soon. This is a lie. These repairs have been going on for months with no end in sight. You will have to wait up to 20 minutes to collect your packages and the office will claim that they don't have them when in actuality the truth is that they just can't FIND them because there is no system of organization. The security guards are rude and uncaring because they're contractors who are equally tired of the management company's crap. The building managers will hide in the office and pretend not to be there, blaming COVID when in actuality they just don't want to deal with all the problems. If you love yourself and want to have a peaceful home environment, don't live here. If you want to be in this location and just need to sign a lease quickly, just know that you will encounter a lot of problems here. I moved into an apartment in July only to realize that my refrigerator was broken. 2 months later they are still giving me the runaround and not fixing the issue. Best of luck to you if you decide to move here but honestly...just don't.
All of the elevators elevators go out of service at the same time so you will spontaneously and randomly have to climb the stairs back to your apartment. There are junkies in the staircase at times. There is a disgusting roach and rat infestation in the building. The exterminator just places brown stuff in random parts of your apartment but it doesn’t really help. The building is slow to respond to problems, such as bed bugs. The plumbing is old and the water often runs brown. Security is great but they don’t have any answers/solutions for the above problems. Rent is relatively high for what the building offers.
Noise is horrible, my neighbors listen to music so loud that even the dishes at my place vibrate. I have complaint many times but they do nothing. The corridor is very dirty too. We have had dead roaches lying in there for more than two weeks, I complained many times and told them to clean it, but it takes them ages to take action. It is disgusting. If you want a peaceful and clean place to live in, this is not a good choice. As soon as my lease ends. I will be gone.
Most of the security is incapable of formulating a sentence, let alone saying "hello"... let alone "securing" the building. Its absolutely cockroach infested. Like... badly. There's trash everywhere, the halls smell like pee. The crime.. don't even get me started. It's a drug and crime HUB. Management is completely unresponsive. Your packages will ALL be stolen. Don't get them shipped here. Trust me. It's an absolute nightmare. I wouldn't recommend that anyone live here.
The building is extremely old and dirty. The apartments have very old and never cleaned windows, with bad windows screens. The pictures and videos have nothing to do with the reality and are very misleading. And for what they offer, they are extremely overpriced. Also the manager office or landlord do not reply to your emails. Stay away if this place!
Please spend a bit of more money on rent, and stay away from this trashy building. Your neighbor blast latin music all day long. Loud music is coming form inside of the building, neighboring apartment, and the street as well. If you are a huge fan of latin music, fine. Otherwise this environment will drive you crazy. The elevator never fully works. Imagine there is only one elevator working for 30+ floors. You will need to wait forever to get down to the lobby. Just understand this neighborhood and imagine what kind of people are living. There are teenagers hanging out in stairway for no reason. Cigarette butts everywhere. If your package was left by your door, assume it will be stolen in no time. The worst place. Just understand what you are getting in before signing a contract, and know the history of this building/neighborhood.
Friendsly tenants, no loud arguing or anything. Everyone says hi and goodbye in the elevatora. Only bad thing is the elevators go out from time to time
- Leaks throughout that building that go unaddressed for years - Elevators go down all of the time and when there are 25-29 floors it means you could be waiting 30 minutes to get up or down. -Laundry room has more than 40 broken machines that took more than 1 years to replace and only were replaced after market rate renters complained -Hot water issues and at times no running water at all -Maintenance makes appointments and then shows up whenever they want. -Leasing office has yet to respond to various complaints from market rate renters.
