Property Ratings at 34 North Apartments
I have been living here since February 2024. This is my first place living by myself and it has been one of the best experiences of my life!! The property is beautiful, the pool is excellent, and I live in a studio apartment but it doesn’t even feel like a studio because it’s so spacious and LOTS of storage!! And the property managers, Angie and Darlene, aren’t just your typical property managers. They are also your friend and they actually care about your personal wellbeing! I honestly wouldn’t live anywhere else! I look forward to being here for a very long time!! Highly recommend living here!
I know it’s cheap but it’s seriously not even worth it. The minute we moved in there had been issues and things took forever to get fixed. We weren’t allowed to see the apartment before we signed the lease and when we came to move in they were still cleaning so we had to wait another two hours, and when we got there, there was cockroaches that took about a month or two to get rid of and there’s no lights in the bedrooms or living room so you have to bring your own lights to see at night. The staff didn’t really communicate very well with us when changes were happening with covid and we didn’t even get to use the amenities like pool or gym the whole time we were there. Also the walls are very thin, the neighbors are very loud especially the ones above the one I rented, you could hear screaming and stomping and running in the middle of the night. After we had moved out they were still trying to email me about ‘late rent’ and I tried to call to ask about that and no one would pick up the phone at all and I had left multiple voicemails, I ended up having to show up and talk to someone very briefly, the office looked like it was closed even though it was the middle of the week.
The ladies in the office are wonderful, we've always had great chats. However they don't have much "power" from corporate to truly be able to do much. Maintenance orders are a joke. My AC was broke for 6 months, finally got "fixed" and broke again within 3 days. My oven has not worked for over a month and corporate keeps denying the office's orders for me to get another one. The apts themselves are okay. But the upkeep of Maintenance and trash with corporate is a joke. They do not care about their tenants, only money. The laundry room also continuously breaks down.
DO NOT MOVR HERE. Yes they are cute apartments, yes they’re in a perfect location, yes the price could be better but it’s not horrible …but do not move here under any circumstances or no matter how desperate you are to find a place DO NOT MOVE HERE. I have had issues since day one. Most aren’t even fixed yet and I’ve been here for over six months now. There is no motivation with any of the people that work for this apartment including maintenance and management. they do not care to maintain the buildings they do not care to clean the buildings for a new tenant they simply paint the walls white and replace the rug. I have a current mold issue with my apartment that they have yet to address. my poor pet has been suffering because of a severe alllergic reaction to the mold for 3-4 months now. it wasn’t until recently we discovered the mold since it was never visible to the naked eye. i’m disgusted and sad, i made this place my home and would overal be content living here if they just maintain their buildings properly. not to mention all the utilities you can’t even use for instance the pool has been closed for years but “looks open” the volleyball court not existing it’s just a big litter box for stray cats, the trash cans are always overflowing and smell disgusting, infested with roaches, the tennis court is closed. also they only respond to the good reviews which is a red flag. management needs to make major changes or at least be accountable for how bad they are at managing property.
I wish I could give them less than 1 star, I would give them negative stars if I could. The current management team is a joke. They never return voicemails and you often have to call 5 or 6 times to get a response when you finally talk to someone they have an attitude and/or talk over you. The last 6 months we lived there, probably longer, it was impossible to get anything fixed. Management is rarely in the office. I lost count of the amount of times I'd see people pull up to try and get in and have to turn away because there was no one there (during the posted office hours). Pool hasn't been open since before covid. They did finally do some work on it and promised it would open but it didn't. Tennis courts were "closed". The "dog park" was a joke. All the amenities we were supposed to have, and were paying for, were mostly closed. God forbid you have a maintenance emergency because its impossible to get help. Many times we had an issue and call only to get no response or get a message that the voicemail wasn't setup so we couldn't leave a message. We had a leak in our heater closet coming from above us for months. No matter how many times we called to try and get it fixed nothing happened. Do you know when we finally got a call back seeing how it was doing? The day AFTER we moved out. They didn't even realize we had moved out, just said they would have to update their records. They just want their rent, which they keep raising, and they don't get that they are supposed to provide a service in return. A/Cs broke down in the summer, took them over a month to fix it. Don't bother reaching out to their corporate company, the phone number doesn't go through. The best was the last month we were there we received an email staying we needed to pay our rent or we would be evicted, it was a notice to quite. But we had already paid our rent, it said $0 balance. After multiple calls and emails trying to get answers they said that the emails are sent out in a batch (so to everyone) and as long as it says we have a $0 balance we are fine. WHAT?? So instead of taking the time to send the emails to only those that haven't paid their rent, they sent them to everyone and gave people a heart attack. And they don't give a crap, it's obvious in every email, call, and personal interaction we've had with them. Since they took over the majority of the people in our building moved out or were planning on moving out due to the mismanagement of the 34 North management.
DO NOT EVER EVER TRY TO LIVE HERE. The one that used to be THE fill in manager, that's now the Receptionist, is a trip all by herself. This place is Infested with German Cockroaches, mold, stove handle kept falling off, blind for sliding door never replaced, never return phone calls, sign lease before seeing the apartment and never in the office. A HOT NASTY MESS!!
bsolutely do not live here. maintenance is a joke. you can never reach or contact anyone in the office as they are always "out to lunch" no matter what time of day it is. you sign the lease before you even see the apartment. so if it's garbage and looks terrible and multiple things are broken - too bad because you signed thw lease before you even got your keys. i'm not the slightest bit happy. 34 north has made me hate my living experience. seriously dont even try. go literally anywhere else bit here. this place is a dumpster fire and i cant wait to leave. i wish i could give negative stars. my mail key does not work. i haven't been able to access my mail in weeks and i can't call them because they wont answer. i cant show up to the office because no one is there. even within hours. multiple times a day. i hate it here.
My family and I have lived here almost a year and it has changed a lot! The new management is amazing and get things done quickly, the maintenance people are very nice and help as soon as they can too!!
Property Manager at 34 North Apartments, Responded To This Review
I would like to say thank you for that amazing review.
As a previous tenant, the staff at 34 North is great! Whenever I had a service request is was answered immediately and they worked well with my schedule so I could be home for the pets. Reasonable prices and awesome location.
Property Manager at 34 North Apartments, Responded To This Review
We enjoy ALL of our residents! Thank you for your kind words!
I went to their office TWICE to inform about my move out date (two months prior to the date). I spoke with one of the staff members and with their manager, Kimberly. Nobody asked me to sign a written notice before I moved out and, a month later, I am receiving a letter saying that I have not informed them about my move out 2 months prior and have to pay extra charges. The staff will not communicate their business policies to their tenants like many other apartments with better customer service do! So make sure to read every line of your lease, or else, they will hold you liable for every little thing. Not even mentioning constantly running toilets and barely working AC/Heater units that will skyrocket your utility bills.
Unfriendly office staff, dirty community, and inflated prices. Don’t live there.
We've lived here for about a year now and we love it! Noise is never a problem it's actually pretty quite for a apartment. Everyone is usually pretty nice and very dog friendly! They just put in a dog park which is awesome as it gives me and my pup a chance to meet other pet parents in the community. The office staff is absoutely lovely! They have been awesome since day 1 and are quick to help. We have a toilet leak and they were quick and responsive to get it fixed. We love it here and I recommend it to all my friends!
