I know this place doesn't need reviews, because people are usually sold by the charm of the building itself, but I wanted to reiterate how wonderful it really is living here. My fiancee and I have lived here for about 7 months and I've never felt more at home anywhere in my life. The first day that we walked into the apartment with our furniture unpacked, we both cried tears of happiness. I had no idea an apartment could make me feel that way!! The neighbors are quiet and friendly. The property manager is absolutely the best. I mean seriously. The best property manager you can imagine and a wonderful person. The management company itself (KMK) is incredible. Quick to respond to any problems, honest, and kind. We walk to downtown Culver City almost every night, take the Metro into DTLA for work (quick 30 min ride), 10 minute dirve from the airport, 15-20 mins to the beach (both Venice and Santa Monica). I can't believe I'm saying this as a resident of Los Angeles, but we are seriously never more than 30 minutes away from anything. If you ever have the chance to move here, do it quick and don't hesitate. Our neighbors have lived here over 20 years. When people move in, they stay. We plan on doing the same!
This building has the charm of cape cod, but is walking distance to downtown Culver City-movie theater, restuarants, and bars galore! It has been updated with granite countertops (kitchen & bathrooms) and stainless steel appliances. There is even a fireplace! The courtyard that connects all the units is tranquil and beautifully lush with flowers and bushes. Maintenance is handled immediately and efficiently. I plan to stay for many years to come. Stepping into this building feels like stepping out of the crazy world of Los Angeles, into a tranquil small town back east.
I dreamed about parts of this apartment well before I found it....the french doors off the living room opening to a balcony, the 18' ceilings, conducive to oh-so-high bookshelves and lots of storage space. And the light!!! Not to mention views of the moon. The loft (my workspace) has a slider opening to a roof terrace where my cat can lounge outdoors in the sunshine amidst the many potted plants. This area has a perfect microclimate. I use the heater and the a/c less than a handful of days a year.During winter I often use the fireplace. Most days my balcony doors stay open all day. Neighbors are always quiet and friendly. It suits me perfectly.
