About This Property
Two hundred plus years young, fully restored log cabin on historic Quaker farm in Purcellville, Virginia available for immediate lease for $3,100/month. Newly refinished hardwood floors, NEW carpet, NEW bathrooms, NEW washer/dryer, NEW dish washer, NEW plumbing upgrades! What better way to end a stress filled day than to sit out on your front porch and watch the horses peacefully grazing or enjoy the free ranging peacocks strutting across the lawn or a magnificent black swan swimming in the pond! Own a horse? Field board and stall(s) are available! The cabin is a historic two story 18th century log home, expanded with a new two story addition and completed updated with all modern conveniences. The home is heated by a high efficient propane forced hot air system and cooled by high efficiency central air conditioning system. Water is supplied by a 450 foot deep well drawing on one of western Loudoun’s deepest and most extensive aquifers. The first floor includes an open floor plan with a living room and country kitchen and full newly remodeled bathroom/laundry room; all with newly installed and just finished red oak flooring. There is also a slate tiled entry foyer and a covered porch overlooking the pasture and a four-season stream. On the second level are three bedrooms with new wall to wall carpeting. The master bedroom (17’ x 19’) is in the original log section with beautiful exposed chestnut logs. The remaining two bedrooms (11.5’ x 10.5’ and 11.5’ x 14’) are in the addition, along with a full bathroom professionally tiled with a new tub. The home is well insulated and energy efficient. The cabin is accessed by a private drive off Nixon Road and includes a 10 ft x 8 ft storage shed. The cabin is one of two dependencies on Shiloh, a historic Quaker farm dating back to 1747. In addition to the mature gardens we board horses, raise Jacob sheep for their fiber and raise organic and non-GMO eggs and vegetables in two greenhouses for sale to local restaurants. We also host special events – include quarterly baroque chamber music recitals – in our fully renovated stone and timber barn.
