Kingsburg is a small city on the banks of the Kings River, about half an hour from Fresno. Despite only spanning a few miles, Kingsburg has a very unique past. Originally a railroad stop called the “Kings River Switch”, bringing settlers and immigrants from across the nation.
Over time, Kingsburg became to be known as “Little Sweden” and Swedish influence can still be seen in the town’s architecture. Downtown Kingsburg is filled with Swedish murals and symbols. At Downtown Park, take a photo in front of the Swedish Coffee Pot Water Tower or the historic jailhouse next door.
Kingsburg is extremely affordable, featuring ranch-style and single-family houses with palm-tree-lined streets. Residents spend free time at neighborhood parks or at special community events such as the Kingsburg's Premiere Micro Music Festival and the Kingsburg Swedish Festival. Traveling out of town for work or play is made easy with the Golden State Highway running through the middle of town.
