Highland is a small hamlet in Upstate New York’s Ulster County, directly across the Hudson River from Poughkeepsie. The two cities are connected by the Mid-Hudson Bridge and the historic Poughkeepsie Bridge (AKA the “Walkway over the Hudson”), an old railroad bridge that now serves as a popular pedestrian route across the river. Highland features a small Downtown area along Vineyard Street, with vintage brick storefronts housing a diverse mix of cafes and other locally-owned businesses.
The hamlet is flanked by two large parks, Franny Reese Park on the riverbank and Illinois Mountain Park on the west side, providing sprawling venues for you to enjoy the region’s natural beauty.

Property Ratings at 41 Main St
Up keep is good and the location is excellent. next to shops, church's , restaurants, library all in walking distance. Not priced out of the market for the long time local residents who which to stay in the area.
I have lived at one of these apartments with my teenage son for about a year. I absolutely love living here. The apartment I live in is small yet quaint and just plain cozy. The bedrooms are a great size ( I didn’t expect that but love it!) The apartment had been remodeled and you can tell. The landlord ( a well know, very liked Highland resident ) was always quick to fix a problem for me ( honestly I had one tiny, incident) . You get the feeling that he actually cares and will go out of his busy schedule to make sure his tenants are happy. It is very hard to find apartments like this at such a great price. He is very easy to talk to and very understanding which is another huge plus! Let’s not forget the laundromat is right out your front door. He recently had the laundromat redone also and you can tell, it’s clean and easily accessible.
