Property Ratings at 414 Light Street
Here are the positives: amazing views or harbor or stadium. The front desk and maintenance staff are professionals who go above and beyond to make living here a wonderfully pleasant experience. There are huge downsides to living here as well that on a rather small but significant part the building is responsible for. This area is NOT safe. Around July 8th 2022, one of the member of the squeegee-kids de-facto gang shot and killed a man in bright daylight right outside the building. Around March 22 2023, my neighbor was held up at gunpoint inside our garage and they stole his phone wallet and his new Lamborghini. While driving that car in Baltimore made him a target, no one deserves to be robbed at gunpoint. This is where the building’s share of responsibility comes in: they have made our garage open and free accessible to the public. The apartments that share a level with the garage are a mere 1 tap of a fob away from people from the outside world. Those people with ill intent can just wait for one of the residents to let them in and next thing you know there is a person with a gun outside your apartment. Regardless of responsibility, living in DT Baltimore is less safe than it was a few years ago. We will be considering canton or Towson as safer alternatives and you should too.
I love everything about the building. I have been living at 414 for a year and it feels like 5 stars hotel and more. Everything is amazing about 414. Location , clean and luxury. Louise the leasing manager helped us from day 1 and always there trying to make all the residents happy and satisfied. I appreciate 414 and everyone who works there. Thank you and I recommend everyone to experience living there. 10/10
I have lived at 414 for about three years now and have had several, recurring issues. These issues have persisted enough to warrant an early lease termination due to inhabitable living conditions. Management has not expressed any remorse, nor taken responsibility for their lack of building maintenance; they only care about money, not their residents. Please note – I’m speaking solely based on my own experiences, but I know for a fact that I am not the only resident who feels this way. I have had several insect infestations in my unit, maintenance requests, and the problem keeps recurring. They "fix" the problem temporarily, just to reappear the next week. I’ve had to follow up with my request multiple times before I get any response. It’s gotten to the point where I’m not able to work on my laptop, cook, eat, or use my bathroom without a bug disturbing me. It is degusting. I don’t keep trash in my trash can BECAUSE of this. One staff member told me that I have one of the cleanest units at 414, so the problem does not lay with me. On one of my most recent requests, I specifically say that I am no longer comfortable with their staff entering my unit due to COVID and they didn’t honor this. I’ve had management knock on my door at inappropriate hours and/or during the workday. At first, they told me the problem was due to a vacant unit and they needed to flush the drains, and next, they told me it’s because my AC unit hasn’t been maintained (and should be done annually). Obviously, there’s some bigger issue here. I had to leave my apartment for 5+ weeks because it has not been livable, just to return to a fly-infested apartment. It is not worth the money, time, emotional stress to live here. They are trying to suck every penny out of me because of THEIR shortfalls and lack of responsibility; it’s downright disturbing. I would not recommend living here.
One of the leasing people called and told me to not come in even though I had already scheduled a tour the day prior. Apparently you have to prove your income before they even allow you to tour the property.
I've had the opportunity to lease my beautiful 1 BD/BA with an incredible view of the Inner Harbor thanks to Louis B, the leasing agent who diligently worked with me to secure my residence at 414 Light Street. Of all the other places in the Inner Harbor that I looked into, what solidified the deal was the professionalism, patience and outstanding support I got from Louis. Without her, I most likely would not have moved in. 5 stars across the board!!
Pros: location, views, amenities..... the warm service of Kayela, Shon, and Jessica in the main lobby... the daily common-area cleaning staff Cons: Unprofessional maintenance team; caught on camera multiple times entering my apartment without proper notice or permission to enter while I was away; management cannot offer an explanation and cannot even accept responsibility for this behavior..... Outdoor wind blows into the units through exhaust vents, causing a surprisingly loud and consistent whistling noise; imagine a boiling tea kettle that you can’t turn off; management was well aware of this construction flaw (they had already remedied other residents’ units) and still took over 3 months to resolve this issue for me with not so much as an explanation or apology for the delay; pretty pitiful for “luxury living”..... the wind noise is only the most major of a number of other engineering oversights This is a 4-star building with 2-star management at 5-star prices. Paying for the most expensive building in the area, but having the above cons, gets old rather quickly. I expect a standard reply to make it seem like my complaints were addressed after this review was posted. ("Please call us to discuss") I will update this review if that actually happens. If you still see 2 stars, I'm still disappointed.
I moved here back in June and the place is great. I love the property, view, and cleanliness. The service just doesn’t match what’s being paid. I’ve worked in hospitality, been a guest of other local luxury apartments, and visited others for events. There are better properties in the area for service but if you’re going for a view and the hotel feel. This would be the place to move. Just keep in mind that service isn’t the best and for some odd reason the staff kind of walks around like they’re more important than the residents.
For a place billing itself on luxury and activities with this price you would expect everything to be on point. Leasing office lied about many things including noise, guests at the pool, parking. They nickle and dime you for everything and events are becoming less frequent and harder to get into. Not worth what they are charging but the view is great.
Property Manager at 414 Light Street, Responded To This Review

This is the most beautiful place I have ever lived. It feels like I am on vacation. My water view is gorgeous. The staff are really nice, respectful, friendly, and welcoming. They all look like they enjoy what the do. Franklin, the lifestyle manager, does a FANTASTIC job of planning events that bring us together. The monthly event calendar is packed with fun in-house and outside events. He ensures that we have community; something I never experienced in all the other places I’ve lived. I have made great friendships already. I am really happy to be here. The building is worth every penny.
Coming from LA, SF, and NY, this is the best apartment living I have ever experienced. Not only is it always clean and smells heavenly, but the staff and amenities are top-notch (free coffee, work-out classes, peloton subscription, dog friendly areas, etc.). The lifestyle manager, Franklin, is amazing and plans events that nurture a sense of community. There are many different events throughout the week that allows you to get to know your neighbors and make the most of your experience at this apartment. Thank you 414 Light Street, I am proud to call this place home!
I recently moved to Baltimore from the Carolina's and am thrilled I made the decision to make 414 Light Street my home. I searched all over the Baltimore area and resisted touring the apartment, at first. It is a little pricey … but oh so WORTH IT! I have never been happier with where I live. I start my day waking up to a beautiful sunrise over the harbor. There is nothing like it in the area and the staff is phenomenal. I could go on about the great views, but pictures speak for themselves. The month is packed with really creative resident events - what a way to meet your neighbors! I didn’t just find a place to live, I found a home. Kellie
I recently relocated here and I am extremely happy that I chose to move here! This place is phenomenal. The monthly events calendar is filled with activities that cater to everyone. The staff is absolutely amazing. They above and beyond to make sure that your stay here is pleasant. In addition, the location, the views, the amenities have all exceeded my expectations. Nothing like coming home from work and watching the sunset from your floor to ceiling windows! You also don’t have to worry about hearing your neighbors because the homes are virtually sound proof!!! Love it here...
Living at 414 Light Street is freaking awesome. The location is perfect, our views are amazing and unique. The commons floor is unparalleled, and everyone who lives here is just great. The building regularly puts on events where we get together, mingle, drink, and hang out. And we randomly find our way to the commons floor and just chill with each other. Not to mention the staff! I love them! Every single one of them works every single day to make sure you're happy and comfortable. And we have services to go along with that. It really does feel like 5-star hotel living. That long list of bullet points they have here for what the building has? All true. And most of it is free (i.e., you have to pay for the maid service and grocery service, obviously); living here makes just about every part of your life easier and happier.
