Neighborhood

Established in 1800, the Charlestown Navy Yard was one of the original six yards formed to support the United States Navy and is one of the oldest shipbuilding facilities for the military branch. For 174 years, this location was home to skilled works, naval officers, sailors, and the U.S. Marines. Today, it attracts thousands of tourists and offers lavish apartments, condos, and townhomes with awe-inspiring waterfront views.

The heart of the neighborhood is Charlestown Naval Shipyard Park and is preserved as a historic site open year-round for visitors. Charlestown Navy Yard is also home to two historic ships: USS Constitution and USS Cassin Young. For even more history, visit the Boston National Historical Park.

Locals frequent Paul Revere Park for scenic city views, public art, a dog park, and playground. Sailing is very popular here and you can learn to drive the boat at one of the many sailing schools in the area.
