About This Home
Stay at the charming Americana Cottage in Uptown, the closest historic Columbus home to Fort Moore. Perfect for military families, it offers a cozy retreat with a fenced backyard and large deck for grilling. Just blocks from the Chattahoochee River, Golden Park, and the Columbus Civic Center, it’s ideal for exploring the area. Feel at home with both professional photos and real-time images from our cleaning team, so you know exactly what to expect. The welcoming front porch greets you with an American flag flying. The front door leads into an open-concept living room and fully equipped kitchen and dining room space that runs the length of the house. The living room is complete with a pull-out sofa and SmartTV, and the kitchen has everything needed to prepare meals during your stay. The two bedrooms showcase the gorgeous, historic hardwood floors. The master has a king-size bed, and the second room has a queen bed. Two bathrooms allow you to share the space with ease. Whether you are in town for the weekend or for an extended period of time, the washer and dryer are there to make your life easier. Don't forget to enjoy the fenced-in backyard, deck, and charcoal grill, which is the ideal space to unwind and appreciate your stay. A pack 'n play or travel crib is available upon request. We are a pet-friendly home. Pets must be crated when left unattended in the home. We do not allow pets on furniture or beds, and all waste must be cleaned up from the yard. All pets require a non-refundable pet fee. If there is evidence of pet hair on the furniture, excess hair in the home, stains, or waste found in the yard or home, you will be charged the cost to clean this. The home is located in the historic downtown residential district, right next to Victory Drive, providing easy access to Fort Moore. Enjoy a relaxing stroll on the Riverwalk, which is only a short, 3-block walk from the home. For those who enjoy longer walks, downtown Columbus is only a mile away. This home is in the perfect location to explore historic Columbus and the scenic Chattahoochee River. You can walk to the river walk, downtown restaurants and bars, and the convention center and theater, but if you want to leave downtown, you will want to have a car or call a cab or Uber. The house has a digital combo lock pad, and you will be provided with the code upon arrival. Check-in and check-out are automated to provide maximum privacy and flexibility. We will call and touch base on the phone, and we can always have someone come and help if you need it, but otherwise, you will be left to spend time with your friends and family.

Sitting on the banks of the Chattahoochee River, downtown Columbus is a terrific community with a variety of historic sites and a quiet, laid-back atmosphere. One must-visit is Heritage Corner, where five restored homes stand as symbols of Georgia's history. One of the most famous of these is the home of Dr. John Pemberton, the inventor of Coca-Cola.
The local population spends their time in the Uptown District, which features a friendly vibe. Columbus Business Improvement District Ambassadors take to the streets to offer information, guidance, and directions. The district includes trendy lofts and apartment complexes housed in historical buildings. The weekly Farmers Market is held from April through November, providing Columbus residents with fresh produce, baked goods, and a variety of handmade items.
