Property Ratings at 49th Street Apartments
I’ve lived here for 2 years. Moved from unit to another. All I can say is this is the perfect place to live if: - you love a roach infested unit - no access to the laundry facilities - leasing team with no knowledge on what to do when things go wrong - no working hot water - no working ac - paying for pest control that supposedly comes regularly but never does - pay $75 a month for stainless steel appliances even though the property is the one that installed it before you moved in - continuously seeing new people in the leasing office - dirty pools - dog poop everywhere - maintenance that doesn’t communicate with you or fix anything If those are things you’re looking for when renting, then 49th St Apartments is the perfect place for you!!! If you’re able to, and know better, RUN FROM THIS PROPERTY.
Stay clear from this ROACH infested apartment complex! Good luck hitting maintenance to do any requests you put through the portal!
Quiet and very clean. The office staff responds immediately to my requests and maintenance staff fixes things right away.
From the moment I viewed the apartment I should have stayed clear from signing a lease. Mangement lacks at managing a complex. The "pest control" we are charged for....the building needs to be treated....I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND someone who cares about their home appearence or furniture to move in!!!
This was my first ever apartment and I was quite happy with the services and the management. I didn't really have any issues and the view of the lake is really lovely. Unfortunately, the rent for my two bedroom has increased by $200 so I most likely won't be staying for much longer.
I scheduled a tour for 2pm on a Thursday and mentioned to Karly some of my questions and what I was looking for. She didn't seem to take the phone call seriously and probably has air for a brain. I arrived on time and headed to the leasing office to find it is locked... No one at the door. I SHOULD HAVE JUST LEFT. I drove around and flagged the maintenance guy George. He called whoever was in charge and the first excuse I got was that they're on lunch break. Are you serious? I laughed and told George that my appointment for a tour was 2pm, no one told me otherwise about it not being a good time. AND 2PM LUNCH? What? My twin who was with me was getting really irritated and was telling me to go. Whoever he was on the phone with told him to show me Unit 1108. George showed me the unit and it was okay, the cabinet work is very crappy (doesn't close all the way and is crooked) and the carpet is incredibly thick/plush (easy to trip over). It's a small unit at around 800 sq. ft. The bedroom windows faced a lake, but there were so many tree branches blocking the view. It was super quiet which is a plus. Anyways, after George showed me the apartment, he said "Widgie" (who I guess I was supposed to meet) would be there 2:30pm. It was already 2:36pm. I got agitated and told him that I work nighshift and that I was sleeping before I came here for this appointment. He mentioned the second excuse that there was a emergency. I told George thank you and as I was passing by the leasing office, a woman of business attire was opening the leasing office. Absolutely ridiculous, so tacky, and so unprofessional. Nobody called me after to apologize. And I went back home tired and frustrated from a HUGE waste of my sleeping time. My guess is that I asked so many questions when I booked the tour and I guess they thought I had too many expectations, so they blew me off. I'm glad it ended how it is because I can only imagine signing on it, paying the rent and them telling me they didn't get the rent. Shady and rachet. I do not recommend.

I've lived here for about a year and a half and I've really enjoyed living here! The staff/maintenance is really friendly, neighbors are nice, beautiful pool and lakes Just opened a new Fitness center and a new clubhouse! I also love the location because it's close to everything, including my job! Overall it's a great place to live.
DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! If I could give them zero stars I would! I've been 10 days now WITHOUT air in my unit. They are absolutely awful at communicating with the residents. They've told us countless times that they will get back with us and NEVER do. The manager told us it would be for sure fixed on Thursday, if not then, by Friday at the latest and that they were rushing the part needed to fix the A/C. Well it's now Tuesday and they're supposedly going to have it fixed today. We've asked for compensation for the extreme inconvenience and the manager told us that "They don't do that" but he would call corporate and let us know. Well of course he never got back with us. I'm pretty sure they've blocked my number because when I call it will go right to their voicemail. I tried calling off my work number and go figure it goes through. This is without a doubt one of the worst places to rent from. I work for a management company myself and I can't seem to understand why it's so hard for them to COMMUNICATE! I'm not one to leave reviews but this is just ABSOLUTELY unacceptable. I will say they did put a window unit in my children's room, which is the only good thing I can say about this place. These people are so quick to take your money, but when the time comes for them to fix something they give you the run around. They clearly don't care about their residents here.
Not sure where those 4 and 5-star ratings are coming from, this place has gone from being bad to just been worse. Not a place to have kids playing outside since they will be terrorized by teenagers running around throwing fireworks around and setting off alarms. I guess all those cameras placed on the property are literally useless since management needs us to hold their hands and tell them how to do their job. I wish I could leave a rate below one star! The rental rates for this place should be below par to most properties within a 5-mile radius. Do not be fooled by the new paint and so-called upgrades, behind that paint you have old wiring, old plumbing, and old AC units. Thus management makes the argument that the rates are driven by the market, this complex is one of the oldest ones of them all and is currently competing with properties built or currently under construction.
Moved in here 1 1/2 years ago and have been very happy. My apartment was updated before I moved in, and maintenance is always responsive and available after hours and weekends. The office staff is always friendly and has helped me out several times with things. This complex is a quiet, safe place to live, and the management is always working on updates and upgrades. It's in a great spot and really close to just about everything you need. If you are looking for a place that feels more like a home, this is it.
I regret ever renting from here. I ended up switching apartments at the end of my lease because I had a terrible pest problem and the fact that my ac never worked correctly. After many calls to the office and attempts to fix my air my apartment was still hot and the electric bill was outrageous. The new apartment is the same if not worse and they will not do anything to fix it. The staff is a bunch of grumpy old farts that hate their jobs because they should have been retired a long time ago. They will spend hundreds of $ on repainting the property but wont invest the $ into necessary repairs. Please take my advice and don't rent from here.
My apartment is a large one, right on the bus line, quick walks or drives to shopping centers, dining, parks and the great Florida beaches, close to interstate for easy access to going out of town. We have 2 swimming pools with great lounge chairs, a lake and picnic tables. The grounds are well maintained, also have a great maintenance team who are on call 24/7 and the office staff is sensational. Penny B, Pinellas Park, FL
