Daytona Beach is a dynamic, fun-filled city known for its year-round festivals and events, including Bike Week, Biketoberfest, and the Daytona Blues Festival. The city is also home to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the Daytona Beach International Airport, the Volusia Mall, and (of course) the Daytona International Speedway.

Property Ratings at 500 East
Nothing gets repaired or cleaned outside area trash on the ground in the parking lot
The beautiful pond and fountain has been broken, empty and caving in and no one is working on it. Each call the same answer - we are going to fix it. That is why we took this apartment is for the view. The pool has been closed(broken from a leak) most of the summer! This is just not right. If you don’t pay your rent the won’t be happy so fix theses things!
I lived here for about a year and a half and I couldn’t take it anymore. There are no speed bumps and nothing to enforce people driving 50 miles an hour through here at all times of the day. I guess it’s named after the race because we’re supposed to race through the complex. Anyway, My neighbors cat was hit and killed and left to die on the side of the road. I had been walking my dogs on the sidewalk and gone to cross the street and been almost run down on multiple occasions. No one cares about pedestrians. The office told me there was nothing they could do about it because they did not want to install speed bumps. They told me to stay on the sidewalks. This is great but when you’re trying to cross the street to get back to your building you have no choice. There is trash from fast food places in the parking lot at least once a day. The managers change so frequency that the rules will change too!! One day you can have some thing on the side of your door that looks nice, then a few months later you have a note on your door saying to remove it, all because there was new management. I love dogs and there are many receptacles to pick up your poop in the complex, but this is not stop people from leaving their dog poop in the grass frequently. Don’t move here!!!!
Gate always broken, call box never works. Tried to increase our rent by $500 for a one bedroom apartment. Don’t count on getting your deposit back because they will deduct $190 for professional cleaning (it was never in our lease agreement that we signed with the previous company) even if the place is left spotless. Don’t bother getting to know your neighbors because hardly anyone renews their lease.
We are moving out after 2 years. The worst run complex that I have ever lived in. Not worth the money you will be paying. The trash by the compactor, the pond erosion, access to the club house after hours were taken away from us, and management is no help with any thing. Poorly run from the top corporate office right on down.
My husband and I recently became empty nesters. Our employment opportunities relocated us to Daytona Beach from Fleming Island, FL. When we sold our 2500 sq. ft home, we wanted to downsize; however, we wanted a place with the upgrades we loved about our previous home. We found that place in 500 EAST apartments – 9 foot ceilings, granite kitchen countertops with a deep undermount stainless steel sink, pull down gooseneck faucet, stainless steel appliances, TONS of cabinet space, FULL-size washer dryer with large laundry room, open floorplan with large windows and natural light, 5-inch baseboards, faux wood blinds, hardwood – inspired flooring, ceiling fans/ USB ports in all bedrooms, FULL size hot water heater, framed mirror in bathroom, large walk-in closets and a beautiful screen in lanai. And that is just the apartment – LOL The amenities are just as wonderful. My husband loves to grill – what man doesn’t. We knew moving to an apartment this would probably not be an option. WRONG – 500 EAST has an outdoor grilling area. So happy we did not have to say goodbye to those hamburger, hot dog, steak dinners. And did I mention, I relaxed on the porch swings while my man cooked. Another amenity I love is the DOG park – and so does my Millie. The dog park is located near the outdoor grilling / swimming pool. It even has a pet spa and doggie fountain – so cute! But beyond the NEW beautiful apartment, the wonderful amenities, I would have to say I am most impressed by the 500 EAST pit crew a/k/the leasing office. The 500 EAST pit crew goes above and beyond – they are AMAZING. They are professional, friendly, and quick to respond – whether by phone, email or in person. As a resident, you have access to 500 EAST Active Building which is a resident portal system where you can pay your rent, receive notification you have a package, submit a service request, or send a message. It has a community dashboard where you can share information with your neighbors and learn about upcoming events – kind of like Facebook but only for 500 EAST residents. Since we have moved in – the 500 EAST pit crew has left a few “happies” at our door – small bag of candy for St. Patty Day, TP/ Kleenex for the great TP Shortage of 2020 – and they have organized some fun social distancing events (Egg hunt with over $150 in prizes and Chalk the Walk contest) to keep us sane as we patiently await the world to re-open. Like I said – they are AMAZING – THANK YOU - 500 EAST pit crew!
