Property Ratings at 5000 Forest
I have been a resident in this community for a couple of years now and it has been one of the most pleasant and well maintained apartments. The complex itself is beautiful, clean, safe and with easy access to about anything you would need. Also walking distance from Publix, JCrew, Chipotle, Starbucks, Tazza and many more places. The 5000 Forest staff genuinely takes their time to help you, and the maintenance staff are friendly, quick to respond and helpful! They also go the extra effort to put together social events throughout the year so you have an opportunity to get to know your neighbors. I would not hesitate to recommend my friends to check this place out.
Very bad experience living there. Although our building managers Chris and Mady are nice, the director of the maintenance doesn’t seem to care about the need of the residents at all. We requested to fix the sink defection, but they directly closed our request ticket without doing anything. We requested again and again, but were told by the director of the maintenance that they have a few hundred sinks in their apartments but none of the sinks has had any problems like what we are having, and thus he won’t repair it. This was apparently logically wrong!! What’s worse, he said he would charge us to replace the cabinet doors that had water damage essentially due to the defective sink counter. Someone below mentioned the nice maintenance staff two years ago. I wonder if they have changed their maintenance team director???
I am active military and have lived all over the US and OCONUS. This apartment complex is, by far, the best rental I have lived in after 26 yrs in the Army. Great, responsive staff!
My first year here was okay, the location isn't bad and the apartments are in good condition. I re-signed my lease before an unfortunate turnover in management and If I hadn't already, I would no longer be re-signing a lease here. With all the new apartments being built in Columbia my advice would be to explore other options. A few things to keep in mind if you do choose to consider 5000 Forest: The walls are so thin you will learn your neighbors' schedules... and you'll know every time they fight. You'll have no real amenities aka workout room, pool, etc. Don't expect anything from management, they have no clue what they're doing and there are no concrete procedures in place to handle any issues that may arise. Really the only great thing I have to say is about the maintenance staff. They're very friendly and always take care of things in a timely manner... maybe they should manage the place.

Thank you for your kind comments regarding our maintenance staff. We agree that they are great! We would appreciate the opportunity to discuss and address your concerns. A member of management will contact you directly. We appreciate your residency and look forward to speaking with you soon.
I loved living here! Everyone was super nice. It was modern and perfect for a single young professional, but the rent was WAY too expensive. I was paying over 800 dollars for 500 sf. I had to move because I could not longer afford the rent. Though I did like the location, Forest Drive traffic was pretty awful sometimes.
The 1 bedroom (B) is 780 SF. It provides plenty of room needed for two people and a dog. We love living at 5000 Forest and have decided to renew for a second 12 month lease. The apartments have a simple and modern style that fits with many styles of decor and provides a very current overall feel.
