You pay for what you get

For the past 2 years I've been living on the west side of Harlem. I love the location but the apartment, not so much. It's on the first floor and 2 of the Bedrooms face the street. It gets extremely noisy with people outside and the firehouse 2 buildings away. We also seem to get cockroaches even when they spray the apartment. My 2 roommates and I are not messy or dirty people at all. Our place has a washer and dryer in it, which is nice. However, it's $2.00 a load for each machine. Each room has 1 wall of exposed brick. But over time it gets all over the floor as it deteriorates. Each room also has a ceiling fan. We were informed of no pets in our lease, but multiple people in the building have dogs that are very noisy. I've complained so many times and nothing has been done about it. I'm pretty sure what the landlord is doing is illegal. I'm the lease holder of the apt. All 3 of us have separate leases though. If a roommate leaves, the other 2 are not responsible to cover the 3rd roommates rent. In 2 years, I've had 7 roommates. And the show the apartment even if you're not home. I'm over it
