Wedged between Balboa Park on the east side and San Diego Airport to the west, Bankers Hill is a terrific location for those who like to travel, those who like nature, and those who want to be close to the city center – Downtown San Diego is directly south of Bankers Hill. It is named for the wealthier residents who first populated the area, which developed during the 1800s. Many of the elegant Victorian mansions still dominate the neighborhood, although many have been converted into bed and breakfasts and office suites.
Today, Bankers Hill is best known for its restaurants, which line Fifth Avenue. Residents from all over San Diego head here to enjoy hotspots like Evolution, Cucina Urbana, Café Bassam, Barrio Star, Mister A’s, and Azuki Sushi. The Maple Canyon Trail is a more hidden gem in the neighborhood – residents know about it, but few others are aware of this terrific hiking path that extends one mile through the center of the neighborhood.

Best experience I have ever had! Bryan Chu was super professional and knowledgeable from the first minutes of communication. He answered all of my important questions before I even had time to ask them. He was extremely helpful with every step of the process. Our move-in was smooth and very positive ,thanks to Bryan. We are very happy with management and the building( clean, beautiful and stunning views).
You cannot beat this location! It's "suburban urban", close enough to the city, but also far enough from the city "activity". It's like living in San Diego's version of Central Park! Best amenity is having Balboa Park right across the street. This building is very high quality - even walking down the hallways, you notice the upscale feeling! The apartment finishes are very classy.
An exceptional residence, location and services, unmatched in San Diego
525 Olive combines the urban experience with park proximity; a clean, walkable neighborhood with good restaurants; and the best views in the city. The building is well-built, with solid doors, larger bedrooms than peer buildings, and other high-end details. Building management is assiduous. We looked at every building Downtown, in East Village, and Little Italy - 525 Olive was clearly the best for us.
The best thing about living at 525 Olive are the people, both the staff and the neighbors. I feel for the first time like I live in a community, not just a beautiful building.
If happiness is an address, 525 Olive Street apartments/community has achieved the pinnacle of happiness!

We moved here from very different circumstances (luxury single-family house in West Seattle, overlooking Puget Sound, about 2x the size of our apartment) as a step of our retirement. We visited every building and listing in other parts of San Diego for a week before finally touring 525 Olive at the urging of our realtor friends. As soon as Bryan showed us around, our choice was obvious and so far, we love our new life!

Great place to live and the staff is always very helpful. Love it here. Totally worth it. If you are thinking about this place stop thinking you have the right place to live. This place is centrally located and has easy access to everything you could think of wanting in a place to live.

I made the mistake of moving in a month ago and need to share my experience with prospective tenants. Will not call out the leasing staff by names, but this is entirely the wrong company to be leasing this new building. My issues started literally after signing in to move here with my leasing agent. I sent numerous emails to her and not a single one was answered to the point I wasn't even sure if I was moving in or not. Then called twice and didn't even get a call back until the day before to confirm what time I would be here to move in. So, there was a 2 week period of no communication from this leasing staff. They're just rushing in people to fill the building fast. Was told 1 month free was only if you moved in June, but it's still going. There is no concierge at all, there's not even a desk person. Which makes me jealous every morning I walk past The Park building and see someone always there. I've never lived in a building with this high rent that was lacking so much. Now here's the best part about the "Package Concierge" and the main reason I'm finally writing about my experience. I had to drive to the post office to pick up my packages because the leasing staff turned them away just this past Friday and then also again on Saturday. I got berated at the post office for the way the leasing staff is treating the USPS. Leasing staff wouldn't let them leave packages in the mail room and then wouldn't let them in the package room. What? You also pay $20 to use this "Package Concierge" which is just a tablet and USPS said this is the only building in the area they're having problems with. At the post office they told me they were called back to come on Saturday to drop everything off, but the leasing staff just ignored them the entire time they were here. I emailed the leasing staff yesterday and got no response so enough is enough.
