I lived in 525 for two years and would highly recommend it to anybody that is interested in living in the downtown SM area. The building is modern, clean, and run exceptionally well by Laurie! She is wonderful to work with, is exceptionally responsive, and keeps the place in tip-top shape at all times! Additionally, the location is walkable to the beach, countless restaurants, bars, shopping, etc.
I just hit the 7-year mark in this building. I was drawn to it for its location, good light and spacious bedrooms. I've since learned that in addition to all this, the building benefits from a great manager in Laurie, who keeps everything clean and organized. She goes above and beyond to make tenants feel welcome and comfortable. In addition to Laurie, the building benefits from the presence of Chelsea, who was a pleasure to deal with for leasing matters, and is now a great neighbor.
I am a resident of 4+ years and this is the best-managed building that I have ever lived in. Laurie, the on-site manager, keeps the building in impeccable shape, is always reachable, and cares about keeping tenants happy. Ownership is committed to safety and cleanliness of the entire property. Prices are competitive for the area.
Laurie, the building manager, is the best human being on earth. She went above and beyond in helping my husband and I make the move from Florida to Santa Monica. It's stressful enough moving from coast to coast DURING A PANDEMIC, but Laurie and her team made it way easier and stress free by helping in every way they could. People like that are very rare these days. We're lucky to have found them.
I lived at 525 SMB for 3 years and loved it! Great location that's close to the beach, shopping and coffee shops. The building is maintained very well (it looks immaculate) and they have a porter who is there nearly every day of the week. Laurie, the building manager, is always super helpful and truly cares. She goes above and beyond to take care of any issues/maintenance requests immediately. Every time I called she answered the phone. The management really cares about the well-being of the building and residents. Great neighbors, too. I loved living here and highly recommend it!!
Laurie, the manager quickly responds to requests, usually going above and beyond what is expected. The common areas are immaculate at all times. As for the location, even though it is in a busy area, the unit that we were in was reasonably soundproof. If we find ourselves back in the area, we would definitely rent here again.
I was lucky enough to live in this building for a year (moved for work) and will miss it! The location is amazing. Blocks away from the beach, the promenade, various gyms/workout places, and walking distance to the grocery store. Everything is literally three blocks away. The apartment itself was sleek and contemporary. We never had trouble with appliances. The time I needed a light bulb replaced, the handyman was there literally thirty minutes later! Not only that, Laurie and Chelsea are both extremely helpful and friendly faces to see around the building. Laurie is always around and ready to help whenever you need anything. I cannot recommend this place enough.
We lived at 525 SMB for 3 years, and it was incredible. From the staff, to the location, to the safety, I can't recommend the complex enough. Anytime there were issues, however minor, Laurie was always there to assist. We were really sad to move, but it was an amazing experience! 5/5 for us.
My wife and I lived at 525 for over 3 years and during that time lived in 2 different apartments as our space needs changed. Laurie was amazing, she always went above and beyond and was very accommodating. Lots of great communication about what's happening in the building and when an issue came up Laurie dealt with it immediately and with any fuss or drama. The cleanliness of the common areas was first rate, always tidy, always clean. The security of the building and entrances was always top of mind and made us feel extremely safe from day one. Its was a sad day when we left 525 as we had such a great experience in that building and met some great people, we also really enjoyed the candy treats left for tenants in the foyer during holiday seasons.
My girlfriend and I loved living at 525 SMB with our puppy. Laurie and the staff at 525 SMB are different from everyone else we met when looking for an apartment in Santa Monica. They're welcoming, professional, and decidedly un-corporate in their approach--so nice compared to the rest of the buildings in SM which are owned by big public real estate companies. It also means that you have a more consistent group of neighbors who treat the apartment as their home rather than a stopover. It looks and feels like a condo building, honestly, and it's a great value for the area. We'd highly recommend it for people looking for a nice, quiet home near the promenade.
LOVED living here. Was torn when we left...Laurie is like family. Will do everything in her power to make you feel welcomed and comfortable. Never any real issues but something was needed, it was handled with super speed. Quiet building above Philz (plus plus plus!) great neighbors and secure building with parking!!!!
Wonderful space, location, and stellar management. The onsite service, aka Laurie, is incredible. She takes care of everything and everyone. Like family. We will miss living there.
My wife and I moved to Santa Monica for work and we were lucky to find 525 Santa Monica Boulevard and in particular Laurie who manages the building. The Amenities are 5*, the location is unbeatable and Laurie's assistance 24 hours a day made our transition from London to SM a lot easier. I would recommend both this apartment complex and Laurie to anyone lucky enough to be looking at this as an option.
This building is more than just its looks! It is filled with wonderful tenants and is managed by 24/7 on-site staff. Maintenance requests and repairs are attended to usually within a few hours and are resolved through completion immediately. Lock-outs are assisted in an urgent manner and someone is always watching the building in addition to the onsite staff. Whether it be security, onsite maintenance, the helpful day porter or the director of leasing- someone will be with you to help right away. From someone coming from out of state that is new to the area and has had experience with poor property management in the past, this makes a world of difference.
This apartment building is beyond excellent. Management responds and resolves nearly every request within hours- even on the weekends. They are extremely friendly, know each tenant and go above and beyond to meet tenant needs. The building is always immaculate, neighbors are very professional, friendly and welcoming. The building is located in the center of everything food/dining/service related and couldn't have more spacious units in a town notorious for minimal sized apartments. It is a true luxury feel at this residence.
