Wyoming’s capital and most populous city, Cheyenne sits in the southeast corner of the state near the Wyoming-Colorado border. About 100 miles north of Denver, Cheyenne is the modern embodiment of the Old West spirit, with a slew of Western-themed attractions, steam engines, ranches, and museums populating the city.

Most indicative of its Old West spirit is the annual Cheyenne Frontier Days, a popular ten-day summer event full of rodeos, parades, and country music concerts and dances. Eight-foot tall cowboy boots are scattered throughout the city, each painted by a local artist and revealing a piece of Cheyenne’s and Wyoming’s history.
