Property Ratings at 55+ Community - The Landings on Ninth
The person they use as the primary maintenance person has no sense of personal boundaries. He views the complex as his personal playground where he can do what he pleases, whenever he wants, and he is not all that good at doing anything that requires a skill beyond screwing in a lightbulb, either. Yet, management is fully aware of this, and keeps sending him back for maintenance requests, which says loud and clear management doesn't care all that much about the residents or what happens to them. After all, why should they? Rent is the same no matter what. This "maintenance" person has been caught in several lies, and management supports him every time. The sad part is that he has even lied to management, but yet is confident he gets to wander the complex whenever and however he wants with no consequences. If you report inappropriate behavior to the management, their first and only response is to call you a liar, even when you have proof of what has happened. So, if you are not ok with someone who will just walk in unannounced and without knocking first and waiting to be invitied in, then please find somewhere else. If you want a management team that doesn't believe that crap is good enough, then please find somewhere else.
I have been telling my landlord about the thudding, dropping and banging that goes on for hours at a time from the people who live above me for about 5 months now, and all he does is yell at me for telling him. They have not only caused my things to fall off the wall, but recently they have loosened a ceiling light. That is how hard they drop, bang, thud and do whatever else they are doing. I suspect that if/when I do bring this up as a maintenance issue, he is going to dump on me again. "The neighbors don't hear the noise." The neighbors won't hear the banging, thudding and other things that cause the stuff to fall off the wall. And just because the neighbors don't hear it, it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I pay rent, but the people above me get to live in my apartment, too. There's other places that don't treat you like this, so please do keep looking.
